Holy crap. End of an era.
Today is Brian McCann's last day at CONAN. There's truly no one else quite like him.

Hot tub foot?
This is a goddamn tragedy although I am sure he is moving on of his own volition. McCann is seriously the best. Seeing that on twitter made me reminisce about all the hilarious stuff on Conan's shows over the years. He will truly be missed on that show. Hopefully he appears in other places.
Rebel Wilson was hilarious on last night's show. Maybe the best interview Conan has had since starting the TBS show. The idea of her and Matt Lucas being roommates in real life and singing show tunes in their pool all night long is really funny.
Wait, Brian McCann is leaving Conan? There's no reason to live! Where's my kayak!?!?
He's moving back to NYC. Any news on a project he's leaving for? Wow. End of an era.
McCann is leaving?? Wheres my Kayak!! Damn that sucks, he seems like a major part of the show they wont be able to replace. Maybe that comment Conan made couple nights ago bout him having kids (after the bath salts sketch) really got to him..
This is a sad day, he's been one of my favorite parts about watching Conan since I first started in the mid-late 90s. To me, guys like McCann and Stack have been as big a part of the show as Conan & Andy over the years with all their years of amazing sketches and characters. At least in the age of YouTube it's easier to find much of their many years of hilarious material on the net.
I found these a while back, I believe they might be some of McCann's earliest Late Night appearances, as a stand-up guest on the show, I think this was before he became a permanent writer for the show:
One of my earliest Conan memories is McCann's recurring "Loser at the Beach" sketches from the 90s, heres one his early appearances
Also heres anothe great McCann thing while I'm at it:

One of my favorite things from McCann is his Raisin routine. I don't know if he's done it on Conan or somewhere else but I have a recording of it from 2005 that I think may be one of those Yo La Tengo Chanukah shows. It's hilarious.

Super bummed out about this news! Hopefully this means Brian McCann will have his own tv show someday (I can dream)
Heres something I never get sick of watching no matter how many times I've seen it. (The part where he almost knocks over the set is the best) Such a funny performer, I hope he doesn't strictly stick to behind-the-scenes writing now, way too hilarious and insane to not be seen on tv somewhere!
And who can forget "Awesome Dave", a sketch where he literally makes COUNTING one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Just going to repost a link to splitsider where they posted my video (Modern Comedian Episode 6) with Andy Haynes prepping for Conan and then they posted the actual set right below it. Have a look. Let me know what you think.

Ugh, it took me 17 years of laughter to finally learn his name is Brian McCann. I always referred to him as, "oh, that guy!" He's been more important to Conan's show than Andy Richter IMO.
Strange seeing him came out with a beer in hand. I was hoping for a short interview in the chair - after 17 years he deserves it. Maybe that explains the beer.
Can't wait to see what he'll do next.
At least he's got his career as an Atlanta Braves catcher to fall back on.
Is it my imagination, or is Simon Helberg kind of becoming the new Norm McDonald for Conan, kind of a go-to funny guest Conan can have on at any time, presumably when a bigger name guest drops out. He works right there on the Warner Brothers lot so it seems like he is able to just come in whenever and his routines are always funny. Never having watched "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" much, I was kind of surprised at how versatile Helberg is with the voices and impressions. He really is much too talented for the nothing role they give him on Big Bang Theory. He could have made a good SNL cast member had he chosen to go in that direction.
Hmmm...He's definitely no Norm.
But he is pretty funny from what I've seen.
Too bad superdeluxe went down I'd love to see Derek and Simon.
Tig on Conan made me both cry and laugh. Can't wait to hear that recording.
"She walked out of the room using that pretty ass I mentioned earlier to propel herself forward. I felt like my dick had been kicked up into my mouth, making me throw up from having a dick in my mouth"
Is that what Norm's been? I think Norm is just good guest Conan and everyone likes having on. Someone like Al Roker or Seth Green have been more like that. Since they said big bang tapes in studio next to them, these guys have definately been the new conan standbys.

I know it's a comedy show, but that piece about "Florida, it's all up to you" on last night's show kind of pissed me off. As if Florida is the ONLY state where something weird has ever happened.
Uh, refresh my memory, where did the Manson murders take place? Where did O.J. Simpson stab his ex-wife and her boyfriend? Where'd the Rodney King riots take place? Where did Michael Jackson have his Neverland Ranch where he enticed lots of children into being molested? Which state elected Arnold Schwarzenegger as their governor (twice) and now has Jerry Brown occupying that spot? But yes, Florida is the "weirdo" state.
