I also find that I get bad luck when that song comes on... in that I hear it!

I waited 2 days to post that.

How dare you say that the Otago Millionaires Club (How Bizarre...) came out of nowhere. They're Maori gangstas from Southern New Zealand.

Have we got an artist/title for the song that brings bad luck yet. I'm usually really good at that kind of stuff and it totally stumped me. Of course, now I can't get it out of my head...

What's even worse is that the version in my head only has about 10% correct lyrics. The rest I've had to make up. "You can choke on a rind, and then mess with my mind....etc."

    Eve 6 - Inside Out

Hit the link to get it stuck in your head/have terrible things happen to you.

I still like Belknap's version better. A little more raw?

It's Otara Millionaires' Club and they are from South Auckland. And that song is truly terrible

I would like to see a radio show with Todd Glass and Bil Dwyer and then just have Jimmy shaking his head with disappointment the whole time

Re: NEVER NOT FUNNY #317 - Bil Dwyer

from dana gould's myspace blog some time back (excerpted):

To the Valley (!), where we found ourselves clomping through what the pamphlet described as, "a roomy two-story ranch house in a quiet woodsy setting". To our astonishment, it turned out to be a roomy two-story ranch house in a quiet, woodsy setting. It was perfect. It was also at the upper ceiling of our price range. In fact, it climbed up to the rafters, burst through the ceiling, and was up on the roof scaling the chimney of our price range. We were about to excuse ourselves, fake smiles affixed, when the realtor tossed ten seemingly-innocent words our way. "The house used to belong to that actor, Roddy McDowall."

Our heads swiveled around like two barn owls gliding past a field mouse get-to-know-you grooming party.

"You know him," the realtor continued, "he was a child actor in the forties and then went on to be in those ape movies."

"Yes. Those ape movies," I huffed. "Those silly, little inconsequential apes movies! Excuse me."

    My wife followed me outside.

"It's a good thing it's perfect, 'cause I guess we're buying it," she said.

"We can't. No one will believe this was a coincidence! People will think I'm really nuts." An arched eyebrow from my beloved assured me I had cashed the "not-a-nut" chit a long time ago. You see, my friends do think I'm a bit of a nut. A Planet Of The Apes nut, specifically.

    ...

Over the years, my obsession with these movies became something of a running joke amongst with my friends, an inextricable aspect of my personality, a surefire deal-closer when trying to score with the ladies (one of these statements is false, can you find it?), but who would believe that I bought Roddy McDowall's house by chance? To the casual observer, it would look like a grotesque attempt by an overzealous fan to obtain the ultimate collectible, a veritable orgasm of fiscal recklessness.

    Thanks darrylduffy for that. Interesting!

Question for Matt: A few weeks back you mentioned the possibility of recording a Writer's Room performance for the podcast. Any progress on that? (nag nag nag)

I like the new bells and whistles on monkeygolucky.com

NNF in full screen mode, the way it was meant to be.

Does anyone know what song Jimmy was trying to pull in the middle of the worst song discussion?

    "Midnight . . . feels right."

It's rolling around in my head and driving me crazy.

My assumption was : "Moonlight Feels Right" by Starbuck. A 70's cheez classic.

Re: NEVER NOT FUNNY #317 - Bil Dwyer

So this is how I managed to get onto the Primo:

Paypal doesn't recognize Pakistan as a country (no worries, we don't recognize Israel, so fair is fair). As such I couldn't pay for the Primo.

So what I did was I did a week of stand-up shows in Second Life. A show a day at clubs all over the virtual world. That way I earned enough Linden Dollars (the in-world currency) to make the equivalent of $20.00. (Exchange rate is L$270 = $1). I then transferred that money to a comedian from Canada who performs with me in-world, convincing him this wasn't some Nigerian spam-scam (you remember Nigerian Spam Scan? They opened for the Kenyan Philharmonic Orchestra on Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday festivities). He then paid the Primo paypal amount for me and gave me the password so I could subscribe.

That was a week ago. Best 20 bucks I ever spent (although if the wife finds out I spent 20 U.S. Dollars on a podcast she will murder me).

Jimmy, Matt, Third Chair. You guys are worth it.
