Pretty much what those guys said. Except Matt always referred to you as "Bill FUCKING Brasky."
And Jimmy called you a cocksucker.
I don't know if I could do what those guys at laughspin.com or Splitsider do. Some of them, like that Jesse Fox guy, seem to sleep, breathe, and eat comedy 24/7. Even I would find that difficult I think, you need to take a breath from reporting comedy news from time to time.
They should at least make you a mod or something.
YOU CAN DO IT!

I'd like to throw out this theory: No one gives a shit about the actual vinyl record inside of an LP. Very few people actually have a record player, and mp3's are always easier. Jimmy's point about the compression of CD audio is spurious at best. If someone tells you that they can hear a difference between 320kbps (SLIGHTLY lossy) and FLAC (lossless) , they're lying to you.
As a musician, you hear a lot of people talk about the difference between tube amplifiers and solid state amplifiers. Guitarist like tube amps because they think it sounds "clearer" with better high end. In actuality, the tube itself is an instrument that colors the sound of your input. Solid state amplifiers get shit on because they faithfully reproduce the source material without coloring it. I think it's a similar case with vinyl records, where it doesn't actually sound "better", you just enjoy the imperfections of the analogue transfer.
My point? People just want the album art! Or, rather, I just want the album art. Don't give me a hunk of wax I can't play just so that I can get some artwork that reflects my purchase. I mentioned wanting to by a full-sized portrait of the Freak Warf cover when that first came out, for instance. I would love to purchase some Jimmy Pardo art, and I don't need a vinyl pressing to want it.

guitarists don't like tube amps because they're clearer with better high end. they/we/i like them because they're warmer and they break up more quickly and offer a unique tone. death to solid state amplifiers.
as for vinyl, same deal. what people miss is the warmth of vinyl, not the clarity. and i think they miss the ritual of dropping the needle too. and i do know some people (they're very odd audiophile types, granted) that listen to most of their music on vinyl. or cassette. that's a thing now. people love cassettes. which are the worst.
idk, I've heard tube amps that were super punchy and sharp. I feel like your speakers and EQ have a lot more to do with the warmth of your music than the medium used to transport it. Why would you want to base your sound preferences on the imperfections of an analogue transfer? If you're discerning enough to care about listening to vinyl, you should be able to figure out what frequency range you need to boost to get the warmth you're looking for.
I didn't grow up with needle ritual, so I can't speak for that.
We can all agree that album-sized art is awesome, though.

Art is more in imperfection than perfection. Otherwise all music would now be sine waves. Digital does remove something from audio, it's just different from vinyl. I suspect that the "warmth" people recognize is the difference between what's perceived as natural imperfections from final compared to harsh imperfections in digital audio. I find the same to be true in video. Film and film-mimicking processes have a more pleasant imperfection than digital imperfections. The worst in my view is the manufactured resolution in high megahertz TVs.
Of course, in 20 years there will be 40 year olds who miss MP3 compression, because the direct to brain music is too "real".

I just spent way too much time trying to decode the "SL082801". I thought it might be a OU812 situation, but my guess now is that it's just a catalog number with the "SL" being the first to letters of "Slayer."
I do suspect that the F 8 -> fate was intentional.
I'll close by expressing my hope that JPSpaulding and Liezl choose God Hates Us All as their music when walking down the aisle at their wedding. That or Daver's Mad at the World.
Anyone here available Monday 11-2 to fill in for Dan? He's going to NYC and we'd love to have a fan in as a substitute. As you already know, advanced Googling skills not required! PM me or email pardcast AT gmail if you're interested.
