I was a fan of Adam Ferrara but now I'm a bigger fan.
He fit it just great and look forward to his return.

For next years intro somebody please bookmark 1:30:35 or so.
"I wonder why you don't wear long pants. HA!!"

Funny stuff and IMO, best show so far this season.

Also, it's awesome to hear a comedian/professional funnyperson who enjoys cars but isn't a huge asshole.

(edit: he's a damned delight, is what he is!)

Might have to dust off the death curse icon:

    Ron Palillo dead at 63.

I'm with Darryl. I saw that this morning and had to listen back to see what exactly was said that might make him part of the curse. Although he is not mentioned by name he was part of the Sweathogs. And I think Mr. Kaplan and Johhny T. owe Ron a debt as he "took a bullet" for them as they were mentioned by name.

This is a bummer. Horshack was my favorite sweathog. He was unusual because he was basically a nerd, yet somehow full of self-confidence, possibly due to not knowing any better.

I even wore an extra long skinny scarf for a few months in high school because he wore one. RIP Ron!

If I try to download the episode right when it's released, it's pretty slow. If I wait until later that evening when I get home from work, the download is fairly quick (~3 minutes or so). I think it may be a matter of everyone trying to grab the episodes as soon as they're released, but I only have my own experience to back that opinion.

Most popular podcasts are released overnight, so they either are downloaded overnight by people like me who never shut down their work computers, or are downloaded at whatever time someone boots up their computer for the first time that particular day. NNF is released at around 10 am PST on Mondays, so a huge number of subscribers download it automatically right then at that exact moment. So, it's more of a "watched pot boiling" scenario, since its one of the few popular podcasts to be released while you are awake.

Adam Ferrara seems like a good guy but man do I hate the American version of Top Gear.

    Matt is wrong.

"The 80s" refers to 1980-89. Were one to refer to "The 199th Decade," then it'd be 1981-1990.

The analog is that "The 1900s" is 1900-1999 whereas "The 20th Century" is 1901-2000.

yeah, the 80s is 1980 to 1989, but 2000 also wasn't the first year of the new millennium. because there was no year 0 (they started at year 1), 2000 was the 1999th year. 2001 was the 2000th year and the start of the next millennium. i remember when cuba declared they were going to celebrate the millennium in 2001 instead of 2000 (counter to what the rest of the world was doing) because they were all "it ain't actually the millennium and we don't wanna look like jackasses in 100 years."***

***the cuban government might end up looking like jackasses anyway, but for other reasons like holding political prisoners.

Guest intern Patrick Roddy informed me of this right after the show, but was too polite to say anything on the air when he realized that I was wrong. Doesn't change how I feel about Lennon being in the '80s Collection though!

Apologies if you guys discussed elsewhere, but has anyone received their t-shirt of Jimmy's first pitch?

Been waitin' and waitin'! So excited!

    Thanks!

No. I completely forgot I ordered it. You ruined a good surprise to myself, jerk.

I think they just shipped this past weekend, so don't fret if yours hasn't arrived yet! You should be getting it any day now.

Also, they're not American Apparel after all, but they're a comparably soft and primo brand, probably nicer than AA at the end of the day.

I can't believe I've been so busy I haven't been able to keep up with NNF. Everyone stop talking about it until I can catch up.

Cool, Keith and the Girl, interesting. I haven't listened yet, but I'm loving the idea of it. Last week on KATG I thought I heard Keith mention NNF, but I thought I must have misheard, because it seemed out of NNF show character.

It wasn't really a shit show... more of an excrement parade.
