Nature Calls
I'm not sure how wide of a release this one's going to get. It's a Magnolia Picture, so maybe it'll be another one where it goes to On Demand the same day as the token theatrical release.
Release Date: November 9, 2012 (limited)
Studio: Magnet Releasing (Magnolia Pictures)
Director: Todd Rohal
Screenwriter: Todd Rohal
Starring: Patton Oswalt, Johnny Knoxville, Rob Riggle, Maura Tierny, Patrice O'Neal, Darrell Hammond
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: Not Available
Plot Summary: Oswalt stars as Scoutmaster Randy Stevens, whose dwindling, apathetic troop ditches a scout meeting in favor of a TV-themed slumber party hosted by Randy's brother Kirk (Knoxville), his polar opposite and arch nemesis. When Randy rounds up the boys in the middle of the night, stealing them for an highly unauthorized/unorganized trip to the woods, all hell breaks loose as Kirk pursues with a pair of gun-toting employees (Riggle and O'Neal). Drinking, nudity, mishandled fireworks and tremendously inappropriate behavior around minors ensues, in the grand tradition of comedy classics like "The Bad News Bears" and "Meatballs."

Re: Nature Calls
I posted a link in the Patton thread last month, it's supposed to come to VOD sometime in Oct I believe, a little bit before the limited theatrical release. I haven't heard too much else about this, but it has a solid cast of comedians, plus it'll be nice to see Patrice in one last thing.

Re: Nature Calls
It played at SXSW, and while I wasn't able to see any of the screenings, all the word I heard about it there was not very favorable.

Re: Nature Calls
Wow, this one was rough. Even Patrice O'Neal and Patton Oswalt couldn't save this terrible script. I'd love to hear what Patton *really* thinks of this film.

Re: Nature Calls
"I had seen [director] Todd Rohal’s earlier films. He has an almost unique-to-a-fault view of the world and filmmaking. With this film, I think he was trying to do something a little more mainstream. But that attempt, when put through his filter, made it so much more bizarre. I was intrigued by the idea of being the calm center in the middle of a lot of hysteria from other characters—from both my enemies and my allies. The other thing that seduced me was that there was a Bad News Bears feel to it, and I thought maybe it would find a way to filter through the film. I don’t know how successful they were at doing that, but I would always rather shoot for something unique and fail than do a script because I feel like they’re hitting all the right mainstream beats. It certainly wasn’t a boring experience for me."

...from his recent AVClub interview, in case anyone was wondering.
