Comics love the "I was the only one laughing" stories!
With Myq's comedy style, those jokes were squeezed in between two-three other jokes the crowd were still trying to catch their breath from laughing at, so it was like a DVD easter egg for the nerds in the audience.
It was a geek trap and I fell for it.
I appreciatively yet reassuringly thank you.
I prefer to think of it as the DVD afikoman.
But regardless, glad you enjoyed what you found!
Rob, you are great at posting things online, great at life, great at being nice, in that order. Or a different one.
Good work, everyone!
I loved listening to Myq on Marc Maron's WTF podcast. Marc seemed a little hostile, but that just made it more interesting for me. I think people who listen to the WTF podcast understand that Marc can be a little moody, or maybe that's just my thinking. Either way, it gave Myq an interesting way to shine because he wouldn't always go where Marc wanted him to go (perhaps part of what Marc found frustrating). This only made Myq seem cooler to me. I actually didn't find it all that tense, but it just seemed like the most obvious part of the show to talk about. I suppose I could have talked about how I laughed when Myq discussed his hate (later downgraded to dislike, or something) for people that bullied him in high school...so much so that he insisted on giving their names.
Good job Myq. Are you doing any more podcasts soon? or have you done other podcasts I can check out?
It's April.
Is it CD?
It is almost CD for you, if you like...It's April. Is it CD?
The official release is still April 27, which is when it's available on Itunes.
If you pre-order it here, physical copies should be sent out at the end of this week or early next week, so it may arrive even earlier.
There will also be a CD release show as part of the Bridgetown Comedy Festival on Saturday the 24th, so that's another way to get it early.
And there will be a CD release show at the Comedy Studio in Cambridge, MA on May 1, so that's another way to get it after the release date.
(After the release date, there will be many other opportunities to get it. For example, go to my schedule and find out where I'll be, and come there.)
Thanks for being interested in being satisfied as soon as possible. I am also interested in that, and I will do the things in my power to make it happen.
Thanks! I sincerely appreciate your shiny assessment.I loved listening to Myq on Marc Maron's WTF podcast. Marc seemed a little hostile, but that just made it more interesting for me. I have been on a few other podcasts, including about 20 episodes of Keith and the Girl (hopefully that link makes sense enough), In the Tank w/Jon Fisch, The Check Spot, Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend, Animal Voices, and maybe one or two other things that you might find on my website (if they're there, and if you look).
Thanks for being interested. Hope all those links make sense enough for you to find what you're looking for.
PS I wouldn't necessarily START with the the first KATG show that comes up, because it's a 76-hour marathon podcast, and that's not their norm. Most of their shows are between 1-2 hours, so maybe work up to the 76-hour one, which makes sense if you want to go chronologically anyhow.
who won the chess game between you and the cow? Just curious.
ORDERED
VEGAN POWER
By the power of vegan, I have the power (to not eat things with gray skulls... or any color skulls, but I'm pretty sure gray-ish is the most common).
Great question. It's an ongoing series. That cow is like my white whale. But a cow, and I'm not trying to kill it.
And I believe if you look at the game we're playing there, my king is laid down forfeit-style, but that's just a ruse. I'm totally getting ready for a comeback.
(Cows don't know the rules of chess very well. Shh.
Horses, that's another story.)
April 27, prefect timing. (for my birthday)
Sorry.
love,

Excellent CCP, Myq!
Watched the show tonight. I also had my girlfriend watch at her house. We both thought it was great. Nice job, Myq!
Myq Kaplan has a very special place in my heart. It's the place where people who make everything better are.
Myq, I absolutely love your cd and wanted to see when we might expect the next installment. I know its soon but I'd love to hear more from you. Do you also have any interest in writing for tv?
The special place in my heart thanks the special place in yours. Our hearts are gay. Which means they really love each other. Good work, gay hearts.
Thanks! Depending what you mean by "the next installment," the next installment is coming very soon or is already here. Some new jokes were told by me on Conan last week, some new jokes will be told on more TV shows later this year, and an eventual hour-long special/new album/something is in the works, mentally and logistically, if not practically and realistically (but those things soon, too, hopefully/potentially).
And sure, I would be happy to write for TV. Do you have a show? I'll be there! Gay hearts! Heart gays!
PS Also straights! I love everyone! And am sexually attracted to the female parts of everyone! (By which I mean, the females that are a subset of everyone, not the body parts of everyone that are female, because some people don't have female body parts.) Heart logic also!
Thanks everyone for everything thankworthy!
Yeah! Nice job on Conan. Keep up the good work!
!
Echoing the love for the Conan set. I thought you had more basic-cable-prime-time-y stuff you could have done, but you tried stuff that was a bit edgier and it totally worked. I loved hearing the audience being won over. Mucho impressive-o.
Eyes are the losers in the skies.
