Los Enchiladas! is a 1999 film written, directed by and starring stand-up comedian Mitch Hedberg. The film is loosely based on his life growing up in Minnesota and his experience working in restaurants. It parodies a chain Mexican restaurant in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota, on the day before Cinco de Mayo (the busiest day of the year for Mexican restaurants). The storyline follows an ensemble cast of absurd characters that work in and visit the restaurant throughout the course of one day.
"Los Enchiladas!" premiered at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival, and has only been shown publicly a handful of times since, at comedy festivals and tributes to the deceased director

This elusive film has finally found it's way onto the internet! (is it ok if I post a link to where you can find it?)
Many comedy nerds have been waiting for this one, it features AST favorites such as Dave Attell, Marc Maron, & Todd Barry. I am very pleased that this film will be available to a much larger audience now, I do believe in gosh!

I just watched it and it exceeded my expectations.

The acting is pretty awful and it lacks any sort of cohesive or compelling story, but it's damn enjoyable and there are a number of really funny moments. Todd Barry, Marc Maron, and Dave Attell are all great in it.

I really don't know why this was never properly released. It would have made a great bonus DVD to "Do You Believe in Gosh." (Though it might have had something to do with getting the music rights).

Yeah, Marc's part is fantastic. I never realized how good of an actor he is until I watched this and Almost Famous in the same week.

I've been talking to Lynn Shawcroft. She's currently working hard on getting this a DVD & Netflix release. The version that had been floating around recently on the Internet, according to her, is not complete, there's still editing to be done, and its not the way Mitch intended it to be seen by a wide audience. I hope everybody respects that. Keep being patient --- there is an effort being made to put this out officially.

The guy who released it talked to a good chunk of the actors and crew.
Most people who worked on the film have said not only did they not have a copy of the film, but, that it was probably lost.

Furthermore, according to various people Mitch handed out tapes of the movie to whomever asked while he was alive and that's probably why there's a copy floating around somewhere.

This does not make sense.
