Mike Birbiglia's new album Sleepwalk With Me comes out today(4/18/11), and is out on iTunes and Amazon. I really want to pick it up, but the last track called The Missile isn't sold through digital download, it's only available on the CD.
What are you guys going to do? Are you going to pick it up on iTunes, or order the actual CD for the last track?
I'm going to buy the CD for the whole CD.

You are probably misunderstanding the note that it isn't available as a single download. iTunes and Amazon does this with long tracks very regularly, wherein you can only get the song or track by downloading the whole record, in this case because that one track is the length of 3-4 of the other tracks combined.
That being said - I've yet only listened to the first 3 tracks and so far it's fabulous. 'Two Drink Mike' is one of my favorite comedy records and this is in the same ballpark as that and he's gotten far better at delivering his material in a way that works on a humor level and then a slightly more meaningful level that kind of belies his current association with This American Life and The Moth. (This isn't to say that comedy records that just aim to be funny aren't worthwhile only that I enjoy that he's broadened his approach and I also enjoy that he loses nothing in humor by doing so)
I have a hard time thinking once I finish listening to it it won't unseat 'Coke Money' as my comedy record of the year thus far which puts 2011 in a much better position already for comedy records than 2010, since if that's the case both of those records will be (in my opinion, clearly) better than anything last year and with notable records (Maron, Jen Kirkman) ready to go in the near future that have potential to make it even better.

I bought the physical copy the other day, and it is fantastic.
I laughed, I cried, I done near wet myself (not really, but comedy works in 3's)
Either way, I highly recommend it.
Birbiglia is climbing the cathartic ranks of Maron, Burr and Giraldo while still retaining a soft, likable demeanor. :-)
Really loved this. Now I want to make a trip just to see "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend."
After listening to it a few times, I find it to be a great album, but I've noticed he uses his "what I said, but what I should have said" formula a lot, along with a TON of call backs. But it's still a great album, just some things I noticed. I would easily suggest it, especially if you're a Birbiglia fan like me.
Haven't listened to Sleepwalk With Me yet.
Though I did see My Girlfriend's Boyfriend in Montreal last summer and it is surprisingly different from Two Drink Mike. More personal, more heartfelt and more cohesive. It's almost like a play in the way he weaves a narrative throughout the whole thing.
But it's really not a play and it's definitely stand-up comedy and people should go see it.

Going this weekend in Jersey. Mike is hilarious, and his books really spoke to me as a guy around the same age. As Maron would say, "Do It!"
Just saw it tonight. It was really good, if you have read the book of the same name you know where it is going the whole time obviously. That said it was a great film and definitely worth watching. I also feel it will be a great film to have in your collection.

Just watched this, and yeah, it's pretty great. Lots of good comedians in small roles. I do think it's funny, though, when they get someone to basically play themselves, and just slightly change their name. Marc Maron plays someone named Marc Mulheren. Do they think that we'll be taken out of the movie if Marc Maron is called Marc Maron?

Hmmm I wasn't so hot on this. I loved Maron and Schaal, but I think him acting out the stories is much less funny than just hearing him tell the stories.
To me it's a problem with your comedy movie if the biggest laugh comes from listening to a Mitch Hedberg joke that is played in the background of a scene....
The name thing did bother me, so I'll check out that interview.
OK, well, he made fun of the fact that he slightly changed names, but didn't say why. I guess it's just a thing that you need to do if you make a movie? I guess? Not really bothered by it. Just think it's silly, which Mike clearly does as well.
It had a Woody Allen vibe to it when I saw it on Friday.
