What's the deal with this show? I feel like it's being strangled by this season's bizarre airing schedule. The flow has gotten so choppy that I'm barely remembering the whole metal apocalypse angle anymore.

i haven't paid as much attention to this show this past season, not really because of the scheduling kerfluffle, but i think the show isn't what it was last season. it's still funny, but the scope of the show has grown to the point that they're trying to cram too much story in 11 minutes and the show suffers. the characters are all still great and the show is still generally funny, but it's harder for me to get into it because the endings come so quickly/feel so rushed.
edit:
a good example is the recent episode with the new manager. rather than have the whole plot play out and come to a satisfying conclusion, they just tacked on an end (as the credits rolled over it) of the regular manager killing the dude.
You're definitely right there, the first season was ridiculous but it was all ultimately building up to the finale. This season it's more like an episodic sitcom in which a lot of people are impaled regularly.

I agree. I think they need a full 22 minutes. I still like the episodes, but all of them just end abruptly now. Every episode since the 3rd one has cut the opening credits short for extra time and the finale is still during the credits, at least in the first season the finale was right before the credits and usually a fairly amusing cool-down took place during the credits. Not unlike the joke after the credits of Venture Bros, it's usually not the funniest thing in the episode, but it's nice to throw that final laugh in.
Don't forget, the Dethklok vs. the Goon comic came out yesterday, including an already-rare alternate cover by animation director Jon Schnepp (I had to go to a couple stores to find it and even then it was $7).
Brendon Small helped write it, so it has some decent laughs and it's pretty true to the spirit of the show, but if they spin off into their own series like Adult Swim has suggested, I hope it's not Eric Powell doing the artwork. He does a great job with his Goon characters, but Dethklok literally looks like they were MS Painted into previously existing panels, at least until the bloodbath climax. Not sure what happened there, but I would go so far as to call it awkward.
Also, I didn't think it's been mentioned on the board that Dethalbum II is slated for September 8. That probably merits one of those "I'm rocking out to swell music" animacons, but I don't do that kind of shit, alright?

Anyone going to the show at the Aragon in Chicago?
Does no one care this show came back? Sunday's episode was a great (Werner Hezog!).
I heard about that and then - and it's frustrating being that I am the perfect target market for it - did not hear about it when it was released.
I kind of sampled through it yesterday. So far I don't know, it sounds more like a compilation than a concept album. I had to check online to confirm it was Brendon Small doing the vocals because it sounded like it could be a couple different people. There's definitely some good stuff on there, and I hope to give it more attention when I have some time to myself, which I never will.
