Louis CK's CHEWED UP Will Premiere On Showtime October 4th

Louis is back from overseas and has this to say about his upcoming special:

I have a piece of good news, which is that my next special "Chewed Up" has an airdate for it's premiere on SHOWTIME.

Louis CK: Chewed Up" will premiere on SHOWTIME on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4th. at... fuck I don't have a time. I'll find out.

So that's news. I don't think it's anywhere on their website yet and it's not listed anywhere else. So you'll just have to take my word for it that I'm not making the whole thing up.

Sweet, I've been anticipating this for a long time. I saw him live in preparation for this special, and it was so awesome (as others have said).

He said on his website that he won't being doing any of the Chewed Up material on the new tour.

i wondered the same thing, since i saw him nearly a year ago in sf when he was working this stuff out and he'll be back here in a week or so, so i would guess that was 'chewed up.' according to his website, the new hour is called 'hilarious.'

"This is a brand new tour with all new material. If you saw me last year during my "Chewed Up" tour, that material is all retired. I shot it as a special which will be out in October on SHOWTIME.

So if you come and see me for the "Hilarious" tour, you'll see a completely different set.

My strong impression is that LCK has given up the idea of retaining his material for any length of time, scrap, start over, build up, scrap, start over, build up.

After Carlin died he wrote a heartfelt thing on his website about how awed he was when he realized that Carlin starts over every couple of years, and also mentioned that he was proud to have just barely reached that stage, and how liberating it was. I think there's no looking back.

Plus I've seen the guy twice in the last two years, and he's just on an extraordinary run. See him at all costs.
