Let us not forget Jackmerius Tacktheritrix. I love that they went all out by almost naming two entire football teams. I would also like to hear the names on the cutting room floor.

I still can't get over the fact that these guys were on MadTV at its most dire. I used to shudder whenever I accidentally ran across their painful antics on the TV. Anybody remember "Lord of the Bling"? Good gravy. I know they didn't write that crap, but it must have been a real drag to have to perform it.
Now, they're doing the best sketch comedy show in a decade.
To be fair they actually weren't in that sketch (that was back in the Aries Spears/Debra Wilson years), and to be honest I actually sort of enjoyed some of the stuff on those last few years of MAD Tv, mostly because of the stuff they did. Yes that show was still 95% crap, but I thought there were some rare gems in there from Key & Peele (and Matt Braunger, Ike Barinholtz, Crista Flanagan and a few others) in those last few years it was still on the air. But yeah, the stuff they're doing now in their own show is world's better.
Didn't Jordan play Ja Rule in that shit?

It was great seeing Eric Price in last night's episode; he was really funny on the last season of "Mad TV" in 2008 when he and Matt Braunger joined the cast. Keegan Michael Key's teacher character in this episode kind of reminded me of his Coach Hines character that he used to do on Mad TV.
Nicole Randall Johnson (another short-lived MAD TV cast member who's done some funny stuff elsewhere, she was funny as Bobb'e J's mom in "Role Models") also appeared briefly at the beginning as the girl getting her titties fondled in the rap video.
Really strong episode last night. Laughed really hard at the teacher and the "bald brotherhood" sketches especially. The sketches on this show are so sleek and nice to look at too by the way, still not used to seeing such high quality filming on a sketch show.
Also, I love how Key tries to work that "Szz-sci-sci" (have no idea how thats supposed to be spelled) karate move into so many of his characters.
Coach Hines always made me laugh by the way. One of the few frequent MAD TV characters I didn't mind. He's basically an early version of Luther, Obama's anger translator.
That pizza sketch was one of the stranger things I've seen on the show.
I've watched this sketch a couple of times now and I think it's one of my favorite things they've done. It takes a really odd turn about halfway through that makes it really funny. At first, you think the joke is about Peele's loser character being by himself and ordering pizza as if it's for a big group of friends, but then the sketch weirdly becomes about Key's character and how pathetic and looking for love HE is. It's pretty rare these days that you have a sketch with an unexpected turn like this, it was done really well in Mr. Show but it takes a lot of writing skill.
yeah like you think you know who the straight man is and then they SWITCH it on ya
Fronthand/Backhand was my favorite!
One nice touch in the Shining sketch was that Peele's character was named "Dick", which was Scatman Crothers' character's name in "The Shining" (I just watched "The Shining" so this jumped out at me)
Here's a really good AV Club interview where Key & Peele explain their process, and Keegan name-drops Mitchell & Webb and Fry & Laurie
I haven't been able to stop watching this since it aired. "YOU WANNA GO TO WAR, BAH-LOCK-KAY?!?!?"
Keegan-Michael Key getting angry is one of my favorite things in the world. "YA DONE MESSED UP, A-A-RON!"
