This week's episode features Horatio Sanz, Matt Walsh, Sean Conroy - http://itun.es/isz5Wz
Regarding last week's episode, I think there should be a whole spin-off podcast of Matt arguing with internet nerds. It was the best.
Also, this week's episode was top to bottom gold. I think the Hank Jr. stuff was probably my favorite.
I'm thinking of calling it "Case Closed Corner" or Mookie suggested "Agree to Disagree". We do another one next week with a guy who was upset with the way we treated the word "catchement".
Episode with Roo Roo was amazing.
I agree, the Roo Roo episode was my favorite one so far. I'd love to hear an episode with Neil Casey and Anthony Atamanuik.
If you love or hate our Eric the Paid Intern segments well then I have a whole show for you... http://itun.es/ibH3GT
Today's new ep. has Lennon Parham, Pam Murphy, Ben Siemon, and I debate Film Threat founder Chris Gore who claims improv is for pussies - http://itun.es/ibD2Zj
I heard Chris Gore on "Who Charted" and thought that he sounded like he might be a bit of a douche, then I heard him on here and confirmed the shit out of it. His descriptions of his "hilarious" ways of "fucking with" people had me cringing so hard.
I kind of can't resist commenting on Chris Gore. His entire appearance was cringe-worthy. He reminds me a lot of someone I know very well, whom I believe to be a "malignant narcissist." Not to say... listen, I'm not a doctor. I'm just saying this is what he reminded me of. I don't know the guy. But... there were at least two stories he told where it seemed like it was going to be relevant to the topic but turned out to be "listen to how awesome I am." Matt Besser deserves a medal for restraint and respect in the face of "the worst." I love how he asked Besser to get into a class and even though he didn't even need to ask (what did he want, special placement?) Besser was like, "no."
It also was telling how Besser described how Gore's antics in real improv would be selfish and Gore responded "I find it strange you think I'm selfish since my podcast is me being the guest on other podcasts." Which is a non-sequitur that doesn't even have internal logic, but at least he argued with a hypothetical criticism of himself!
Here's a few opinions for Chris Gore to adopt if he reads this (Sorry!):
I have gone hunting, therefore owning pets is for pussies.
I wear leather power bands, therefore everyone else is a pussy.
I have raped someone, therefore having consensual sex is for pussies.

I agree, Tron. Listening to Chris Gore talk was rough. It was like when you hear somebody describe himself as "the funny guy" in his group of friends. There's a certain level of delusion and lack of self-awareness that is hard to fathom can actually exist in somebody.
Plus, his entire argument was one big backpedal.
"Improv is for pussies. But not the kind of improv you do, of course. Oh, and not that other kind. But this one certain specific kind that I think exists in my head where everybody has pretend tea parties on the moon and they just smile at each other. That one. That improv is for pussies, right, Matt? I'm going to go tell some woman I'm on my first date with something loud about my butt. That's REAL improv!"
On the bright side, his 80s video mixtape "Cathode Fuck" was awright - particularly the McDonalds training video.
I thought his half-cooked opinion may have been an excuse to do an improv podcast, but this episode is missing from his podcast feed.
I'm not sure what level of discourse you expect from someone claiming that an action is "for pussies," but I'm pretty sure this surpassed it.
I saw that segment less as "Let's hear someone who's full of themselves talk to Matt Besser" and more as "Let's hear Matt Besser counter some common misconceptions about improv."
Matt's bit about the reality of saying yes to the PERFORMER and not the CHARACTER should be required listening for every person trying to be funny, and it was worth listening to the segment just for that.
It's nice to know that Mr. Gore's description of the apex of Improv is basically the show Jackass, though. Someone please explain to me how improvising in front of an expecting audience is somehow "more safe" than random strangers. If random strangers don't laugh, you can still have a fun story for later. If an audience doesn't laugh, you're dead in the water. An environment isn't "safe" just because you wont get punched in it.
Formerly an enigmatic Irish woman. Don't ask.
Today's i4h is "Live from Del Close Marathon Pt 1" - http://itun.es/ib63TB There's 15-20 different improvisers on this Part 1 including Chris Gethard.
I am a week behind, but I need to say that I find Chris Gore tiresome. He's not even defending his crazy claim, which would be interesting.
