Am I wrong in thinking that pretty much everyone has already seen the Zapruder film? I am currently reading a JFK assassination book and watched it a few times recentlly and might be desensatized to it. Based on reactions to the video, I feel like I might be a terrible person.

I audibly said, "Jesus Christ" when watching it. I've seen the Zapruder film a lot. I think, when it comes down to it, it's still a guy getting his head blown apart and that's rough to laugh at.

Well, now I feel terrible. What's done is done though. It was meant as commentary on memes in general, but I can see I went way too far. I was making this one and got mad at myself for participating so I made the JFK one. Hopefully if I type enough words I will seem human again.

I didn't mean it as a criticism; more a commentary on my own life. I thought I had seen the Zapruder film before, but I think I'd only seen sanitized, grainy versions or less graphic newsreel footage or maybe cinematic simulations. I gasped when I saw the damage the bullet did. I really only remember a jerk and his body slumping over.

It is obviously tasteless, in the conventional sense, but that was the point, right? It is graphic commentary.

I liked the post before I realized that we had collectively decided to shame you instead (and before the video was over).

I assumed that it would cut to Lyndon Johnson's inauguration or something at the point where the dancing usually starts, I did not assume I would watch a man die. It was a weird way to see the Zapruder film for the first time BUT I laughed while I rapidly changed tabs.
