I Dare You to Watch Moral Orel Tonight

It's the Season Premiere of the Cancelled Show Nobody's Talking About!

    Tonight: Thurs, Oct. 9th.

Then reruns and premiere's airing in a crazy order Mon-Thurs for the next nine weeks.

It's not that funny, but fuck funny anyway.

The last few episodes of the previous season were quite possibly the greatest things i've ever seen on television not called "The Wire". It saddens me to see AS let this show go out so unceremoniously.

    I agree.

Moral Orel isn't (wasn't?) always the funniest show on television, but it's certainly the most addictively hypnotic. I find the fact that I experience genuine pathos while watching these stop motion characters wonderful.

I really don't understand how this show never connected with the Adult Swim audience, and I'm bummed that it's going to be gone soon.

It didn't resonate with the audience because it wasn't ripe with anti-joke meta humor or hipsterish weak shock value, where as Moral Orel is so dark without being contrived. Moral Orel might go down as one of my favourite TV shows ever... I'm gonna miss it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is officially the best show on TV now.

The first 2 new episodes are now available to watch on Adult Swim's website:
    "Numb" from this past Thursday
and this Monday's (10/13) new episode "Grounded"

Re: I Dare You to Watch Moral Orel Tonight

I have to be honest, I kind of stopped watching Moral Orel after the first season, and haven't really kept up with the show, but that episode has me really intrigued. I'm going to download the second season now and catch up with what I've been missing.

It's definitely the darkest show on Adult Swim. That episode reminded me of a Daniel Clowes comic story. I can see why the people at AS didn't like the direction you were going in with this season, but it's certainly more emotionally affecting than any other show in their lineup.

Hey Dino, if you are reading this thread:

I just posted a myspace bulletin promoting the season, and included links to the episodes on the adultswim.com website. But one disappointing thing was I'd hoped the two-part "Nature" episodes would also be up. Do you have any control over getting certain episodes online? It'd be a good idea to have them up there, I think.

I wish I wasn't a dirty filthy Canadian so that I could watch the episode again online.

Re: I Dare You to Watch Moral Orel Tonight

this is most definitely the bleakest, most downtrodden thing i have ever laughed at. i'm sad this is the last season and am baffled by the way the episodes are being aired. is there an actual schedule of when the new episodes are airing over the next 44 nights?

Jixby (if that really is your name),

You're absolutely right. The Nature episodes should be up there. Should have thought about that myself. I'll look into it on Monday. I also edited them as one, so maybe that would be easier.
