Down and Dirty with Jim Norton

Hey kids,

Since HBO doesn't seem to want to promote their own show (they hate it), I wanted to let you know about Down and Dirty with Jim Norton. Basically, fifteen or so comics, doing jokes they could never do on network or basic cable television. It was a ton of fun to do (sneaking in to Lemmy's dressing room to drink his whiskey all day was a career highlight), and more than chaotic, to tape. I will be on the premiere episode, October 3rd at Midnight (technically the 4th) with Whitney Cummings and Jim Florentine. No idea how HBO will edit things, but it should be a great show. Hope you get a chance to check it out. Future episodes will showcase the fantastic Kevin Shea, Shaun Rouse, and, of course, the ever amazing Ari Shaffir, pulling out his cock to make "comedy" "better". Watch it and love it, please.

Also, the Steelers just won in overtime. Fuck anyone from Baltimore.

I really like Jim Norton. Normally I'm not that into "cringe" type comedy, but Jim Norton stands out from that crowd to me. The way he words certain things makes me laugh ("You have hair like the Hulk you androgynous monster.") I don't really know how to explain it as well as I'd like. I'm glad he's got a show, but for the most part I didn't care for the comedians that were on tonight. Jeselnik was awesome as always and is up there with Dan Mintz as one of the best joke writers out there. Artie Lange and Jim Florentine are funny guys but I don't care for their stand up and I didn't find Whitney Cummings too interesting. I'll definitely be watching this though, I know there's some good stuff to come.

Here is the best compliment I can give a comedian;

I woke my wife up to tell her the Brady Bunch joke. Did she think it was funny? Not at all, she thought I was an asshole for waking her up. But I maintain that it was fucking hilarious. Ergo; Comedy gold!!!

Jeselnik is officially one of my new favorite comedians.

Great set Jeselnik! I was so glad to finally see the jokes the Conan censors wouldn't let you do on TV. Also glad to hear people are enjoying the Jeselnik cause you know that guy needs all ego boosting he can get.... seriously he is really one of the best joke writers I know and deserves the acclaim. Congrats Anthony!
