Thanks for the great shows this week! Much appreciated Mr. Benson.
There's no reason why Doug should know this, but I am looking at my Itunes directory right now and I can tell you there have been 218 "official" episodes so far:
Season 1 - 28 episodes
Season 2- 50 episodes
Season 3- 32 episodes
Season 4- 40 episodes
Season 5- 60 episodes
Season 6- 8 episodes so far
Fun tip: If you go into your Itunes directory on your computer, and go into "podcasts" and then go into the Doug Loves Movies folder, you can see the official episode number for each episode and what counts as an "official" episode. Sometimes the decision on what's an official episode or not is confusing- most of the hotel room and rental car eps don't count, of course, but the episode with Sean Cullen and AST's own misscritta was not deemed worthy of being an official episode for some reason. I thought that was a pretty great one.
I also seem to be missing episodes 501 and 503 for some reason, and have no idea now what they were. I guess whenever Season 5 becomes officially available I'll re-download them. 502 is an in-studio ep with Howard Kremer, Kulap, and Matt Belknap. Any idea what episode came before and after that one?
i have no idea about most of that, sounds pretty accurate. but i assume the sean cullen ep isn't official because of the lost 30 minutes at the start of the show.
And don't forget the DLM road shows, which aren't in the chronology. Because those aren't numbered, I think there may have been times that we decided to release a road show as a free ep, but because it wasn't a Friday episode we didn't number it or count it in the regular series chronology. As Doug started doing more non-Friday free DLM eps, at home and on the road, we started giving them episode numbers in the series chronology. So, short answer: numbered eps used to be the Friday releases, but now it's pretty much any free DLM that follows the standard format (guests, games and shitheads).
The Ken Jennings episode was really fun. I've kind of fallen behind with podcasts because I don't have a delivery job anymore, but that one got me hooked again.
Edit: and it's been fun catching up! Although it's become pretty apparent that Doug hasn't seen all of The Wire yet, so, what the fuck is he doing with his life? Hunger Games jokes when Kenard goes unhated by him?

1-2-3 ROBOCOP!
"She walked out of the room using that pretty ass I mentioned earlier to propel herself forward. I felt like my dick had been kicked up into my mouth, making me throw up from having a dick in my mouth"
Rory, Brendon and David made me laugh more than I have all week. Great, great episode. The dissection of Rory's superpower was just the best. "No surprises in our house!"

Just seeing this week's lineup, I knew it'd be great fun....
I've said it before but I think the podcast is HTFDTGM...
I'm sure that this has been posted before but there might be new eyeballs:
"It's a newwwww kayyyyyyak!
Agreed, this is funny throughout and Rory is laser accurate:
Off to eat cold pizza and watch Shakes the Clown - Definitely not for emetophobes!
"I feel the same way about disco as I do about herpes." HST
weird that the still from the commercial features a guy who isn't rory.
please tell me if you see a current movie that doesn't have anyone puking in it.
(thanks!)
I'm pretty sure the people puking are the ones watching the Oogieloves. I was surprised that was a real movie. My son and I saw the preview before Brave and I was sure that I was having an acid flashback. I kept asking him, "Are you seeing this, too? Is it just me?"
I'm shocked (SHOCKED) about 2 things from the recent boner eps:
1. The person playing against Graham did not know the Three Nipple movie from 1990.
2. Graham said the wrong title.
It made for a pretty hilarious podcasting moment though.
graham said later that len's three-star rating threw him off. and the thing about the movie "inspiring" a tv series.
(what tv series?)
