Is this a remake of "The Dinner Party?"

Re: Dinner for Schmucks

It's a remake of "The Dinner Game" ("La Diner de Cons"), the French movie. For a long time, Sacha Baron Cohen was attached to star, but I guess that fell through.

So...it's not the sequel to School for Scoundrels?

That's what I meant, thanks.

I saw that movie. I actually kind of hated it, as I recall.

We had to watch that movie in our French class when I was a freshman in High School. Although I did not enjoy it, there is a very good chance that is due to my experience in French 1 as a whole.

Merde!

My mystical third eye sees Paul Rudd combing his hair and telling the producers that the movie should be called "dinner for fucks"

Re: Dinner for Schmucks

Some interesting casting in this; Jemaine Clement apparently has a pretty big role, and I spotted David Walliams in the dinner scene near the end of the trailer. Chris O'Dowd from "The IT Crowd" is also in this. And that's Jeff Dunham as the ventriloquist guy.

Larry Wiltmore! Ron Livingston! Turtledickie getting a film debut!

But fuck Jeff Dunham. Always. I'll see this movie at a pre-noon show, withholding $3 of my dollars due to the discounted price as punishment for casting him.

TAKE THAT, HOLLYWOOD! SUCK ON MY ABSENT $3!

Re: Dinner for Schmucks

This entire movie looks like a vehicle for Steve Carrell to go crazy with some support from Zach G and Paul Rudd as the straight man

Re: Dinner for Schmucks

This looks pretty funny but at the same time, I doubt it will be a high priority for me in the theater or on DVD.

Zach's is almost surely a small role magnified in the trailer.

Re: Dinner for Schmucks

I dunno, the stuff at the dinner table looks to be pretty major. It seems like he's the Schmuck that some other member of the firm brings with him.

EDIT: Obvious synopsis, durr, sorry.
