Yeah, I think this is one of the main reasons NBC has allowed The Office to go on for as long as it has, because they really don't have much else. I guess they will try to keep the spirit of the show going with the Rainn Wilson spinoff, and P&R seems like it will probably be able to go for another 2-3 seasons at least.
I'm not sure how long "Up All Night" can go, I'm already kind of tired of it 1 season into it.
Looking at what NBC has on deck for next season , none of the shows really seem to fit the mold of "workplace comedy" that they have had on Thursday nights in recent years. I guess the closest is "1600 Penn", which takes place in the White House. The two shows that seem like they would fit the best on Thursday nights are "Friday Night Dinner" and the Sarah Silverman show.
I really hope they don't try to stick the Roseanne Barr/John Goodman show on Thursday nights, in fact I kinda wish NBC would stop making multi-camera sitcoms in general, they're never any good any more and they should really leave that to CBS.
Well, I know there are logistical reasons why it didn't happen, but I've been consistently baffled by the fact that Best Friends Forever wasn't put on Thursday nights. I feel like it would have had more of a fighting chance had they put it there, and its four episodes were funnier than anything The Office has done in a while. I was never really into The Office, anyway, but it's become objectively boring lately.
Maybe NBC should consider branching out into other comedy nights. You could have "Susan 313" and "Best Friends Forever" on Wednesday night, as a "woman's comedy night"; Thursday you could have Community-P&R-Office-30 Rock (still the best way of scheduling the 4 shows, I think), and then Friday pair "Friday Night Dinner" with "Up All Night" as a night of "family" shows.
Of course, they wouldn't do this because nobody 18-34 really watches TV on Friday nights, and I don't think there's ever been a sitcom night on Friday nights since TGIF back in the '90s.
Couldn't hurt to bring it back though! Just from an OCD level, it seems like a show called "Friday Night Dinner" should be on Fridays (as it was in the UK).
Edit: I forgot about the Matthew Perry show, save that crap for midseason IMO

The Roseanne/ John Goodman show is news to me as well. And even if it is multi-camera I am a bit excited. I have no shame in saying I think Roseanne was a damn funny show in it's day.

...and back to discussing Community.
This was one of the best episodes. I don't think I've ever seen a parody that so clearly replicated the look/feel/tone/whatever of the thing being parodied. The dialogue pacing was perfect and there were still (storyline-relevant) jokes crammed in there.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I think there's some Fat Neil/Vicki fanfic that needs to be written.
They pretty much spelled out the title's joke in the AV Club review and I felt pretty dumb for not picking up on it.
It's ironic that Dino had them kill Starburns off because he didn't think he could act when this last episode was his best work ever and the best part of the episode.
"The wisdom and the the spiritual beauty within Roy Jr ... it's just effin sick!"
I think it was less a problem of him not thinking he could act and more a problem of him hating acting. He has been on the commentary tracks since season 1 saying how much he hates being on the show and how much he hates having to keep his sideburns like that for pretty much the entire season.
Starburns' lawyer only had one arm...It was the other arm.
I am glad I wasn't the only one who picked up on that.
"He has gone to a better place."
"The Blu-ray shelf."
Troy's facial reactions as he kept moving up the arm were brilliant. I wish I knew how to make animated gifs so I could prove my statement.

This is the internet. You don't need to make Community GIFs yourself. If it aired you can basically watch the whole episode in GIF form.

I searched and couldn't find one. But thank you!

Yet another reason to love Dino! I'm gonna miss Starburns. I smiled every time he appeared. But how great is it that we have a talent like Dino who would actively pursue less screentime on a major network television show? That never happens. EVERYONE wants to be on TV. Even if they swear the don't. Dino honestly doesn't. I didn't think Dino could get any cooler, but once again he found the way. Rest in pieces, Alex.
