Also, I think a past thread regarding this was locked. Something about letting the people who make the show start the thread. |

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
the two guys that Jimmy has mentioned on the last three episodes: Geoff Tate and Dave Waite are Cincinnati comics and two of my favorites to watch. Geoff is moving to Los Angeles soon and may appear in the CDR shows so look out for him. I find Dave one of the funniest people ever so you should check his stuff out too.

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
Yeah, it's gotta be tough. They are doing it for free (well, it costs to do it, as far as I understand), for a relatively small audience. It's hard to see immediate payback for the effort, except hanging out with friends ::ahem:: "by the fire." They have to coordinate schedules, etc etc etc.
It's one of those things that you have to do with blind faith that it wille eventually pay off, and you just have to do it consistently, whether it seems to be working or not. And you really don't know if it's working at all until you've done a bunch of consistent episodes. Then... maybe more people come to the shows, or buy the CD, or someone gets booked at a new place. I enjoy it every time, and I hope they keep it up, but I understand the obstacles. |

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
maybe not the best thread to do this in, but i want to second this. saw geoff open for birbiglia just over a year ago and was really impressed by a strong set from someone i hadn't heard of prior.

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
yeah, I usually see Tate open for the comics I see when I go down to Go Bananas. I really like his Chinese Food joke.
Anyways, I don't think we've ever had a consistent podcast here. I think the first 2 were weekly and ever since then, it's random. I think the downing of this board killed it. I blame AST for the death of the Todd Glass Podcast. That's right. |

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
oh yeah, i forgot to mention their podcast, they've had pat dixon, mike lukas, and josh sneed on there.
Back to this one though, it must be extremely difficult for Todd and Jimmy to get together because they are both probably extremely busy, and on top of that they try to get another comedian and they don't get paid, and I think Todd has said everything there needs to be said about hitting kids. I find it amazing that Never Not Funny made it through 100 free shows. |

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
Hey if they need monetary inspiration, I bought Jimmy's CD off iTunes based solely off my love of the podcast and am planning on seeing him when he's in the area in October. Also bought Todd's CD after listening to the podcast, although I was planning on buying it already.

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
I would like to apologize for the delay in getting the podcasts out more consistently. It is all todds fault. But I love him anyway.
We have two more in the can that should drop this weekend and then we plan on getting into more of a consistent thing. As it was stated earlier, it is very hard for Todd and I to coordinate our schedules since we both travel all the time. But we really love dong this show and are putting a lot of effort into it. Thanks again for listening, we all appreciate it. Pussy! Jimmy |

Re: Comedy and Everything Else
that "Jimmy got the high score bit" where everyone talked over each other was incredible. I love it when three people can go into something without hesitation or an intro. One of my dreams is to be in a restaurant and have the entire place break into song and dance without planning.
