    Chris Hardwick- "Mandroid"

THE NERDIST CHRIS HARDWICK STANDS UP FOR NERDS EVERYWHERE!
    THE COMEDY CENTRAL® ORIGINAL ONE-HOUR STAND-UP SPECIAL
“CHRIS HARDWICK: MANDROID” PREMIERES SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10 AT 11:00 P.M. ET/PT

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW YORK, October 22, 2012 – The Nerdist himself, Chris Hardwick, celebrates all things nerdy in his first one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL stand-up special. The world premiere of “Chris Hardwick: Mandroid” will air on Saturday, November 10th at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Hipsters beware: there is no irony in Hardwick’s affinity for Captain Picard, Comic-Con and the Atari 2600. Filmed at Skirball Center for Performing Arts in New York City, “Chris Hardwick: Mandroid” features candid comedy tales that cover virginity, chess club, shark vaginas, awkward childhood, awkward adulthood (which in this case is an extension of awkward childhood) and a myriad of other topics which may or may not include Quidditch. From unearthing his old MySpace page to the futility of attempting to delete his Facebook account, Hardwick displays his comical approach to all things trivial in the digital era, all while #hashtagging completely out of context.

Leading up to the on-air premiere, the COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special.

The extended and uncensored DVD, CD, and digital versions of “Chris Hardwick: Mandroid” will be available in early 2013.

Chris Hardwick is a stand-up comedian, writer, and television and Internet personality. On COMEDY CENTRAL, he has appeared on “Mash Up” and “Premium Blend.” He is a contributing writer for Wired Magazine and is the host of AMC’s “Talking Dead,” a live after-show for “The Walking Dead.”

Hardwick is the founder of Nerdist, a cross-platform production entity devoted to all things nerd-related. Their online presence includes a website at Nerdist.com, a premium YouTube channel (youtube.com/nerdist), the Nerdist News daily e-newsletters, Course of the Force – an annual lightsaber relay run for charity, 1.7 million Twitter fans, and a podcast network, including the flagship Nerdist Podcast, which is also produced as a TV show on BBC America. In July 2012 Legendary Entertainment acquired Nerdist Industries; Hardwick serves as Co-President of Digital for Legendary, as well as Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Nerdist Industries.

“Chris Hardwick: Mandroid” is executive produced by Hardwick, John Irwin and Alex Murray. JoAnn Grigioni is the Executive in Charge of Production for COMEDY CENTRAL

Oh, this is already up at the Comedy Central screening room. I wonder what the delay is with releasing it on CD/DVD.

I imagine the delay is due to it not being released the traditional way through Comedy Central Records. I'm betting Nerdist is releasing it in some different way.

    Also, shiny suit.

This is finally coming out today on CD and DVD. The CD is put out by Comedy Central Records, so I don't know why the delay.

I think Eugene Mirman's "Underground Laboratory" special is also supposed to get a CD (digital) release eventually.

CC Records has been kinda hit or miss with that recently. Whiskey Icarus was available for digital download the Tuesday after the premier, but the physical copy isn't out till the end of this month. Mandroid was an even longer wait. But something like Caligula was ready for physical and digital pretty quickly...

I thought it was funny that during the obligatory racist "film black/jewish people laughing after black/jewish jokes to show that this is okay to joke about" they would point the camera at nerds after every nerd joke.
