Thanks for watching guys! Glad you are digging it. We are just trying to do cool, dumb shit - glad it's connecting with people out there. - CG
I just started watching after watching and loving all the #BonnarooGethard stuff and wow, this show is something special. Genuinely one of the most strangely uplifting things ever. I hope you can keep this going forever, Chris.
There's really nowhere else to put this, so I'll put it here: The improv set that Gethard and The Stepfathers did at UCB tonight was one of the most wonderful sets of improv I've seen in a long, long time, especially when the entire group ganged up on...a heckler is the wrong word, but a drunk jackass who was trying to "help" by shouting things at the stage. The second half was all framed as a graphic novel/series of paintings and one of the coolest conceits for a show I've seen in a while.
If you're in New York, go see The Stepfathers! They're the best!
Carry on.
things are iffy.
Lucas - thanks for the kind words. I will do my best! We lose money on the show, but I am obsessed with working with all the people on it and we have a real fun time, so the plan is to keep it going until the money runs out or the fun stops. The show is the main reason I stay in NYC instead of heading out to warmer and more economically friendly climates. Very glad you're enjoying and it always makes me psyched to hear that people find the show to be a positive thing.
Brandon - very glad you enjoyed The Stepfathers. We have a real good time up there and I can't imagine anything I'd like to do more with my Friday nights than play with those guys. That heckler was a pain in the ass and I was mad he had as much of an impact on that first half as we did. But I'm super psyched you enjoyed that second half - I really dug it too.
Thanks so much guys!
Geth
I haven't been watching the show lately, and I don't know why. Maybe because I was too tired from school to stay up, but that's a shitty excuse. I'm catching up on the show and have been ruing the Wednesday I decided to fall asleep early. The show is always interesting and inspiring. I love it so much, and I feel so dumb for taking such a long break from it.
Jeez, man, don't beat yourself up! You ok?
The Setup Show was a brilliant hour of television. I love this show.
Oh nice! I'm glad you liked that one! It was hard work for me running around that much and I walked away from it feeling like it was awful. Our studio audience stood in the hallway for the bulk of it and the stream went down, so almost no one could even watch it. But then I went back and watched a few minutes of it on the archive (which I almost never do) and thought it did what we were going for and felt slightly better about it. Hearing that you dug the Setup Show genuinely makes me feel like I was just burnt out from executing it when I got in my head about it. So thank you!

Whoop! Whoop!
Mr. Gethard, congratulations. I'm sure this will be one of the most awesome things.
Awesome news! Congrats, Chris. I grew up in the North Jersey suburbs around the same time as you did so I am looking forward to seeing them depicted on TV.
So we're all agreed that "Ronk"(?) is the greatest, right?
"Guys, I don't want to worry you but there's some more bullshit happening on my golf course"
Hey everyone - Thanks for the kind words on the show, the blog posts, and the IFC deal. I'm excited about all the momentum lately and hope it all turns out well. IFC is a really good opportunity for me and I am gonna work my ass off to make something good out of it.
I'm glad some of you guys watched last night's show! I think it was one of our most balls out funny episodes. Those characters all brought the heat. If anyone wants to cast their vote on which character they want to return, the link is below. For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the archived episode should be up tomorrow.
Thanks!
- Geth

Chris, I won't get to see it until it's on iTunes - any chance Ginko Balboa made a last-second appearance??
No sign of Gingko Balboa, but the following episode does show off the ten viewer submitted characters who all auditioned for a chance to be a new recurring member of the TCGS cast -

If you have been meaning to watch an episode of TCGS and haven't gotten around to it, I seriously think this one is the one for you. This is not me trying to just push it with hyperbole, I have a feeling this one in particular will appeal to people on this message board. It's a funny one, plus it features Bobby Moynihan. Give it a shot this week if you've been waiting for some reason, you might like it.
If you do check it out, don't forget to go to this poll and vote on which character you want to become a regular fixture of the show.
