    Bunheads!

Can't seem to find the existing thread for this must-see, appointment-viewing show. Last night's installment (episode 4) was the best yet! Sutton Foster was hilarious as always, AND got to bust out her singing and dancing chops. I know this will be a rough go for some of you, who prefer a more naturalistic approach to comedy, such as Louie (awesome). But don't think of Bunheads as cringe-inducing (which it admittedly kind of is), think of it as 'stylized'. Foster is just so damn funny and winning. I wish variety shows were still popular, THAT'S what she needs.

I'm enjoying it so far. I'd prefer Kelly Bishop in smaller doses, but Sutton Foster makes a decent poor man's Lorelai Gilmore.

The breezy, morning-after cigarette to the Newsroom's belligerent, knockabout descent into darkness.

This is on my radar because I saw this Sutton Foster sing "I Love A Lever" on Sesame Street and I kinda love her now.

When I see Sutton Foster, I think of this. Am I the only one?

Damn that Sherman-Palladino! Such snappy dialogue! They'll get me to watch a show about anything it would seem.

Probably not, since she's in that clip.

You know, I'm not a mod so I can't "do" anything to you* if you actually say you don't like my post instead of negative voting it.

*Not that I ever did do that. My number of times people asked me to ban people outnumber the actual times I banned real people about a billion to two.

I love Bunheads. I just hope there's a need for a town troubadour or two at some point, because I'd love to see Grant-Lee Phillips and Dave (Gruber) Allen make an appearance. Oh, and Sutton Foster went to my high school. :-)

yay for Bunheads! / the one negative: limited availability on hulu, so I missed the first 2 episodes. And they don't leave the episodes up for very long either.
What's up with these channels not embracing online viewing? ridiculous / wait: another negative: you can only watch on the web, not via Roku or any other device. sheesh.

Yeah, I wanted to give it a chance after Gary kept raving about it to me, but I can't find the first two anywhere (I shan't torrent), so I guess I'll wait for DVD? I 'unno, I think they're shooting themselves in the foot by not letting people get into it late. Maybe they'll do a marathon at some pt. and I can rock it then. (I did watch the last five minutes of the last one, didn't understand a goddamned thing I saw and thought it was hella cheesy, but I'm willing to give it a shot from e1 if I ever get a chance).

PS: remember when LOST started? I do, because I didn't watch it. But then, around Thanksgiving week, I had heard enough buzz and wanted to get in. ABC did a mini-marathon to get anyone like me up to speed, and that's how I got caught up. DO THAT AGAIN ABC! (FAMILY)

I don't know how much of this thread is sarcasm and how much is genuine sentiment, but I loved Gilmore Girls like no uber comedy nerd should, and I do enjoy Bunheads despite knowing absolutely nothing about dancing and realizing I'm the furthest thing from the target demo.

It's too breezy, and often cheesy, but it's filling a void in my television watching that left when GG did.

(But what do I know? I rank shows like Castle and Psych in the same league as Louie, so I'm clearly an idiot. :P)

I am a genuine grown man Gilmore Girls fan, and I've watched all of Bunheads so far. I can't speak for anyone else, but only people who hate fun would say an uber comedy nerd shouldn't like GG.

Okay, I watched. I'm in love. (I am expecting them all to show up at Luke's for breakfast or shop at Taylor's store, but I think I'll get over that.)
