Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star

Here's another one where I bet the trailer's gonna drop soon, probably before "Just Go With It" when it comes out in a couple of weeks:

    Born to Be a Star
    Release Date: April 22, 2011
    Studio: Columbia Pictures (Sony)
    Director: Tom Brady
Screenwriter: Adam Sandler, Allen Covert, Nick Swardson
Starring: Christina Ricci, Nick Swardson, Stephen Dorff, Edward Herrmann, Tyler Spindel, Don Johnson, Brandon Hardesty
    Genre: Comedy
Plot Summary: The story centers on a small-town nerd who stumbles upon a family secret: His quiet and demure parents were famous porn stars in the 1970s. This motivates him to leave Northern Iowa for Hollywood, hoping to follow in their footsteps and fulfill his destiny as the biggest adult-film star in the world.

Sorry, Nick, I'm gonna go with this as the photo:

Someone always makes this joke. This Tom Brady directed the Rob Schneider movie "The Hot Chick" and cowrote/produced Schneider's "The Animal". A long time ago he was a producer on "The Critic".

According to Box Office Mojo, this has been moved to September 9th, 2011, and the title has changed to Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star

No wonder there hasn't been a trailer.

The Happy Madison version of "Boogie Nights"? The twist being that Nick's character has a super-small penis.
Don Johnson even appears to be filling the Burt Reynolds role.

I saw the trailer before 30 minutes or Less today, it made me really not want to watch this movie.

This seriously looks like the worst thing ever. Only crazy amounts of nudity could save it. Wait, I forgot: the internet exists! Never mind. Not savable.

Looks like Sandler is going to try to go even lower:

I think the Bucky Larson story could be a good comedy but I don't understand the need to play it like a Jerry Lewis movie...

Man oh man, I want to see this movie. It looks delightfully cartoony-stupid, like "Don't Mess with the Zohan," maybe. And I love cartoony-stupid. But, I love Jerry Lewis, too.

I hated the green band trailer but I'll admit that after seeing the red band and all of the silly TV commercials with Peter Dante as the spokesman for it, I'm being won over by its crude ridiculousness. Just when I think I'm done with Happy Madison movies, they pull me back in.

The Peter Dante-hosted commercials may be the most confusing marketing decision I've ever seen (unless they are planning to do that with dozens of other cast members as well).
