Well I did take him up on that offer, and here goes the recap for those curious about the move to Largo.


The show garnered a pretty good crowd.


The format is the same, except doug takes a seat on stage in the comfy chair rather than from the audience.


Patton Oswalt talks about the pressure of the baby timeline, and hoping his child isnt retarded if she doesnt smile by the 8th week, as forecasted by other parents.


First timer to the show, Matt Braunger.


Rob Huebel addresses the two guys in the front row having a conversation in the middle of the show then talks about always being cast as the douchey guy, and persuading his mother to not go see I Love You Man by reciting lines from the movie.


Graham Elwood as the elusive two horned unicorn. Also note the "headshot" he brought up on stage and the disinterested pose.


Bil Dwyer brings Graham on stage for some trivia, with each question he gets wrong, he removes an article of clothing. A game he hasn't quite worked out...

After going over Hogwarts Snaps, Chris Hardwick talks about getting angry emails after he replaced The Soup for one week, without any notice to the viewers. (... while benson sits there thinking of a Snap of his own.)

Thanks! It's nice taking pictures in a different venue for a change... unfortunately there will be no Benson Interruption next month, if I remember his announcement correctly.

that is correct. i'll be doing an interruption at ucb-ny on august 10, and the show returns to largo in l.a. on the second monday in september.

(AND i'm doing interruption shows every day at bumbershoot in seattle on labor day weekend)

Todd Barry talks about mistaken identity.


Adam Carolla. I'm not sure why I was so surprised he was so funny, considering one of my favorite things on KROQ was Mr. Birchum's guide to Porn, but he was the highlight of the night. Particularly his story of Harry Connick Jr. being born on 9/11 and the Today Show celebrating 9/11 jokes.


Aziz sorts out what stories to tell on Letterman, considering most of his material is inappropriate. That's too bad, everyone should hear his Jamba Juice gay rights story.


Graham comes out swinging the mic stand like a helicopter.

Hey was the show with Todd Barry, Aziz Ansari, and Adam Carolla recorded? I know there is the CD coming out but I thought that was recorded in NYC or is a compilation of many Benson Interruption's.

I thinks this one by itself could sell, I sure would pay for a download that could play on a MP3 device.

nope, that performance was just for the live audience. there will be an INTERRUPTION cd someday, but for now the only way to experience it is by purchasing a ticket.

In need of AST pro tips -- I want to go to the show tonight but haven't bought tickets yet. Is the show likely to sell out? Also, can I just get a ticket at 8, go pick up dinner and then come back closer to show time?

Doug would probably have a better idea of the sales, but I can attest that Carolla garnered quite a crowd last time he was on. So I guess it depends on how well Carolla was was promoting the appearance on his show.

Also, yes you can get a ticket at 8, and come back for the show at 9... seating shouldn't be a problem if it's just you.
