Grey's Anatomy is still on the air? Good god.

Strike that. America's Funniest Home Videos is still on the air?

How is NBC in last place when ABC is doing this shit?

Maybe the rankings of the networks has more to do with how many people watch their shows than how good you think their shows are.

It's been a while since something like this happened, but Tuesdays from 9 to 10 will actually be a pretty crowded hour now for fans of comedy. You'll have "Happy Endings" and "Don't Trust the B" going up against "The New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" on FOX and "Go On" and "The New Normal" on NBC (assuming either of those is going to be any good).

    Re: 2012-2013 Pilot Season

ABC's schedule is pretty close to what I expected, though I'm a little worried for "Happy Endings" having to go up against the somewhat more popular "New Girl", since they share a lot of the same fans, hopefully they won't take too hard a hit in the ratings from New Girl. So Damon Wayans, Jr. is competing against his former show, "DRAMA!" indeed!

    Re: 2012-2013 Pilot Season

Reading this article is super depressing; the networks managed to pass on pretty much every pilot this season that actually sounded good. "Susan 13", "El Jefe" with Ryan Hansen from Party Down, Nicholas Stoller's pilot for CBS, the Louis CK pilot, "Rebounding" with Will Forte, "Little Brother" with T.J. Miller, "Friday Night Dinner", the Ben Falcone/Melissa McCarthy pilot, etc. etc.

With so much comedic talent behind the scenes here, what happened? How'd we end up with shows starring Matthew Perry and Anne Heche?

The one thing we can maybe hope for is that some of these pilots might leak out and we might get a chance to see them. That used to happen all the time, around like 2004-2007 or so, but it's kind of stopped in recent years. Maybe the networks are cracking down on security more now and stopping pilots from leaking out.

    Re: 2012-2013 Pilot Season

I think the networks generally have streaming programs where they can give people who need to see a pilot a login/password. This is probably more secure than back when DVD's were being sent around to a bunch of people.

And it really sucks about Rebounding. It looked like it was going to be great, and it sounded like a shock that it didn't get picked up.

    Re: 2012-2013 Pilot Season

FX has just ordered 13 episodes of Australian stand-up comedian Jim Jeffries' new series

Also stars DJ Qualls (scrawny guy from Road Trip)
    and
Dan Bakkedahl (funny actor whose name you might not know but you've probably seen in a lot of stuff. Was a former Daily Show correspondent, the nosey waiter in the Ricky Gervais scenes on CYE last season, recently in the last few episodes of Community playing the "vice dean" of the Air Conditioning Repair School, I think he also has a pretty big guest part in this weeks "Veep" season finale)

I recall Gillian Vigman (Mad TV, The Hangover, short-lived ABC show Sons & Daughters, plays Alan Tudyk's wife on Suburgatory, etc) was in the pilot too, not sure if she's still in this or not.

Expected to air in January 2013

TJ Miller is now the lead of Goodwin Games. So now there is actually a show I'm looking forward to.

I think that picture of TJ might be my favorite part of the article.

If this is NBC's idea of good television:

They couldn't possibly try harder to recreate the What to Expect trailer with that. They even photoshopped sunglasses onto them. Oh boy.

John Cho joins the cast of "Go On"

I don't know, with him, Seth Morris, and Brett Gelman involved, maybe the show won't be so bad.

Moshe Kasher is apparently on the writing staff of "The New Normal", according to his Twitter
(also Mike Scully from The Simpsons)
