Fans of "<a href=http://www.stardvdcity.com/the-office-seasons-16-dvd-boxset-p-452.html>The Office DVD 1-6 </a>" may still be reeling over Steve Carell's recent decision to leave the show after next season, but the star promises the show is "not going anywhere."
"<a href=http://www.stardvdcity.com/the-office-seasons-16-dvd-boxset-p-452.html>The Office DVD 1-6 </a>'s going to be great," he told Parade.com in a recent interview. "The show has been very consistent and I'm just one part of this ensemble. The show is so strong and has such good writers, it will continue to be great.
But Carell, 47, who plays Michael Scott, the regional manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, admits leaving the series after seven seasons will be bittersweet.
"I will miss all my friends. We've known each other now for seven, eight years," he told Parade. "I mean, it's been a long time since the time we shot the pilot until now, so that's by far what I'll miss the most, the friendships that I've gained there."
But Carell has high hopes for his character.
"I hope he ends up happy," he said. "I hope that he finds whatever he's looking for."
Meanwhile, Carell has some high career ambitions of his own. In a recent interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz, Carell joked, "Sure I'll play King Lear. That's my dream," later changing his dream role to "Hamlet."
Shakespearean classics might be a bit of a stretch for the funnyman. During <a href=http://www.stardvdcity.com/the-office-seasons-16-dvd-boxset-p-452.html>The Office DVD 1-6 </a>interview, Carell sat on Horowitz's lap, force-fed him beef jerky and lathered up the interviewer's feet with shaving gel.
