View Full Version : New members: introduce yourselves here
Bob Bardament

Hello, friends. I'm new to the board. Well, just the posting part. I've been reading for a couple of years. Since I finally got the nerve, I was going to post in the "New members introduce yourself" thread, but I could not find it. Is it gone? Or, did I just not look very hard? Either way, I'm introducing me now. I'm Tre from Waco. Nice to be here.
Mod edit: It was gone, but now it is this thread! All new members, please introduce yourselves here, if you so desire.

good idea. it'd be a good thing to have, i think the old one got lost in the shuffle. any chance this could be the default thread for that (retitled)?

ummmm...hi my name is Brennan and I'm an alcoholic....
oh wait, that's a different board.
I live in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA and I'm obsessed with laughter. Not actually, laughing, per se, but the physical and biometric actions that take place when one laughs, you see, I'm a doctor and we're currently taking applications for a study on laughing....
oh wait, that's a different board.
Hi, I'm Brennan, I like Mr. Show and Monty Python and stuff. Tim and Eric, Patton Oswalt, Trailer Park Boys, etc. etc. etc. etc. Nice to meet you. Sort of. Not really.

Hi, my name is Anthony. I posted here a bit a couple years ago then inexplicably disappeared.
I have been collecting action figures for ten years now and my diet consists strictly of food that has been tenderized by machines.
I also was a fan of 90% of the things that are popular prior to them being so.

Hi Everyone,
We haven't been formally introduced. I'm really not certain though. I may have already introduced myself, but forgotten.
I've been a lurker here for many years. Since like 2003 when this site was a tenacious d site. I live in Los Angeles and go to comedy shows sometimes. You may have even seen my head floating in the crowd. I sometimes write comedy, but have always found excuses for not performing or for not being more involved in the comedy scene in general. Someday soon, friends.
I'd like all of you to embrace me unconditionally (and all my flaws, too). I'm not such a bad person, really. I just need a little direction. Maybe some elbow grease.

Guess I should officially get on the record here...
Although I've seldom posted, I do check things out here from time to time. I live in LA, do improv regularly at The Westside Eclectic and other venues around town, but spend most of my time working on SF Sketchfest, which I am one of the three co-founders of (I get a much needed one month break from LA while I am up north January come fest time). I dig indie music and am a bit of a movie nerd. Oh, and I love Karaoke bars, particularly tiny little Festa in the Japantown mall in SF.
Tah for now!

Toe in the water.
Oh, and I work at RooftopComedy (http://www.rooftopcomedy.com), full disclosure?
I first did stand-up comedy at Fanime, a Japanese animation convention in San Jose, CA. I don't watch anime (anymore).

Born in NH, where the granite comes from. Name is Alex Mac. I'll let the rest of you all come up with your own witty Nickelodeon jokes. Amateur comedian in the New England area, particularly Boston and Providence. College student. Ham burglar. Radio DJ. Other stuff. Wow, facinating.
Nice to be here.

Hey Dudes,
I've posted on here for a few years but something happened a couple months ago that wouldn't allow me to log or change my password. I can't even make this post not be bold. Haunted computer?
Anyway, I decided to re-register, hope that's OK.
I'm an editor and a writer on Tim and Eric. I also do comedy shows here and there. Thank u.

I just recently learned to laugh so I'm doing the rounds.
I picked the name cocaine because it's the only word in the english language with two kinds of sugar items.
Well, except for carmelaglucoseugaryrup.

Hey, y'all.
I'm new. Ish. I was a member of this board back in the early two-thousandies as Wait A Second Sally. And I have the t-shirt to prove it. Well, it doesn't have my member name on it or anything. That would be really nerdy.
I like comedy, funny things, hilariousness, silliosity, sarcasimation, and uncomfortable silences.

I second the motion to interview Dan Telfer, I had the pleasure of interviewing him for RooftopComedy (http://blog.rooftopcomedy.com/2008/10/15/i-know-why-the-caged-nerd-sings/), and I can safely say that if given the chance, I would conduct interview business with him again. A++++

Hi,
Long time lurker, first time poster (I think...). I'm in Tallahassee, FL and thought it would be a great time to join in the fun posting fun while I'm studying for law school exams. This will turn out to be a swell idea. =/

December 3, 2008, 5:56 PM
Hi, I'm Steve Body, posting under the incredibly clever screen name of "steve.body". (The dot is to throw off agents of the Mossad, who have me confused with someone else.)
I live in Bellevoid...I mean "Bellevue", Washington, a soul-less retail hell-hole located directly across Lake Washington from downtown Seattle. I'm originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, and have lived in the Pacific Northwest since May of '92. I was a professional actor, director, playwright, and script doctor for about 25 years, performing in theatres all over the Southeast and doctoring dinner theatre comedies, removing the "jokes" and replacing them with stuff that makes people laugh. (I was generally successful at this...but not always)
I have also written for radio, doing a syndicated, 90 second comedy piece called, "The Way Things Look From Here" during the 70s and 80s in the Mid-Atlantic states. I have, literally, written almost every single day of my life. I now write mystery novels and a Reader Blog for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Online edition called "The Constant Valentine". I also own a wine shop and write wine criticism for several online sites.
That's me. Good to be here!

Hello.
I'm Steve. I'm a college student. Too young for my own good, and too ambitious.
I have been reading this site since I started listening to NNF two (?) years ago, but never felt like posting. My need to express my opinions has reached its critical capacity.
I am American (Boston/NY) but currently live in Switzerland. One of those study abroad-find yourself things. I sort of miss my cat.
Uh, yeah, let's do this.

Hey all. I'm Sam. You might have seen my screen name posting threads in places maybe she shouldn't have, this is my first forum I'm actually posting on. Yay interaction!
In any case, I have a comedy radio show called "Naked Music," chock full of AST goodies, along with other stand-up, sketch, and interviews with awesome comedians. kuci.org
... now that I got that utterly shameless promotion out of the way, hope to see you guys at various comedy shows or on the forum :]
