I've been calling the Largo reservations line the last couple of days in hopes that they'll say who's slated for Monday's comedy show in the Little Room. While that hasn't been fruitful, today's message does announce that the Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen show appearing August 5 and 6 was written by Paul Thomas Anderson.

I thought that was interesting and thread worthy. Not sure if I'll go, but hopefully someone here will.

They did a preview of this show as part of Jon Brion's show last night at Largo, and it looks really promising. I missed Jon Brion's first set because I was at Jill Sobule's show in the other space (the Little Room), so it would be hard for me to describe what I saw of it, since it was a continuation of what they did during the first set. But it will definitely be worth seeing, and it was especially cool to see Jon Brion playing the score on stage while Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen (and special guest John C. Reilly) were performing. It was yet another one of those unique Largo experiences.
