Hello, friends and avatars of friends. I noticed that there has yet to be a thread for Hardwick's new site: <a href="http://www.nerdist.com">"The Nerdist"</a>. So...

You will enjoy it if you like at least <b>one</b> of the following:

1. Chris Hardwick
2. Chris Hardwick's writing (including live performances thereof)
3. Comedy in general
4. Comedy in specific (hereto regarding "nerdly" things: gadgetry, gametry, geometry... <b><i>x</i></b>etry+1)

Here comes the hard sell <i>(come on!)</i>, anyone who loves comedy should spend the next <b>15 seconds</b> reading any one of the following recent posts (they're all bite-size*):

<a href="http://www.nerdist.com/2008/07/awkward-hands-c.html">nerdist.com/2008/07/awkward-hands-c</a>
<a href="http://www.nerdist.com/2008/07/robot-barman-br.html">nerdist.com/2008/07/robot-barman-br</a>
<a href="http://www.nerdist.com/2008/07/its-3g-iphone-d.html">nerdist.com/2008/07/its-3g-iphone-d</a>

Those are my favorites so far. He posts a couple a day, so it's a fun site to check in on.

All told,
Mike

* If you thought that should have read <i>"byte-size"</i>, you're either <a href="http://www.nerdist.com">The Nerdist's</a> target audience, you're Andrew Solmssen, or you're both.

And here I thought I spent too much time on the internet before. Looks like I won't be seeing the sun for a while...at least until I read every single post on the site. I wish there was some way for me to manage to stay at home, reading all of Hardwick's awesome blog posts, AND be an active member of society, but as we all know that would only be possible if the function defining my position was left unobserved...which might be a little difficult on the macroscopic level. So it looks like that function is bound to collapse, leaving me here, in front of my computer.

Hey! I am the Nerdist's target audience, and I am Andrew Solmssen. And if you want to get explicit about it, those posts each have 2 or more ASCII characters, which renders them bigger than byte-size, which by definition would make them exactly one character. Which for some reason reminds me of the old joke that by definition every program contains at least one bug and can be reduced by one instruction, therefore every program can be reduced to one instruction that doesn't work. So there you have it, if those posts are in fact byte-sized, Hardwick has executed that very reductio-ad-absurdum on his own writing.

It's late. I should be in bed.

I have started what will hopefully be the first of many contests on the site. This is AST for shitsake, and funny people populate this forum. Please jump over to <a href="http://www.nerdist.com/2008/08/the-nerdist-pho.html">THIS PAGE</a> and deliver the kind of spine-cracking hilarity that could win you a $50 iTunes gift card.
