what more do you need to know?

conundrum
July 15, 2008, 12:24 PM
Are you going to announce the line up or keep it a surprise? Either way I'm really looking forward to it.

dougbenson
July 15, 2008, 4:15 PM
i'm either going to announce the line up or keep it a surprise.

(either way you will enjoy it)

The real question is should I buy your CD now, online, or is there any chance you'll have some copies there with you?

aenemaTron
July 15, 2008, 11:04 PM
The question is, did my reservations get erased when the original thread for this show got erased? Because I still want to go.

dougbenson
July 16, 2008, 8:56 AM
i didn't think it was possible to make reservations on a thread.

and yeah, i'll probably bring cds to the new york show.

(or i'll forget)

klaus_kinski
July 16, 2008, 12:19 PM
SOLD OUT! What're you, Jon Bon Freaking Jovi?

aenemaTron
July 16, 2008, 1:27 PM
i didn't think it was possible to make reservations on a thread.

That explains a lot of the problems I had.

Last time I had brought my wife to an Interruption she panicked and made us leave without saying hello (awful, given that you had been so generous with the tickets) so I am not going to allow that this time 'round.

Yes, I blame her. What of it

dougbenson
July 16, 2008, 11:08 PM
ok, now that the show is sold out, i can tell you the line-up: a candy cane, a piece of lint, some cheese, my balls and brett gelman.

(get your refunds now!)

priceyeah
July 17, 2008, 1:17 PM
Nah, Brett Gelman is worth even the highest price of admission.

dougbenson
July 17, 2008, 2:23 PM
i like your attitude.

aenemaTron
July 17, 2008, 5:21 PM
Is it rude to ask what kind of cheese?

klaus_kinski
July 17, 2008, 5:51 PM
Ha! I just realized that I forgot to make a reservation! And I was the one trumpeting that it's sold out! Sweet irony!

(I'll be there anyway)

dougbenson
July 20, 2008, 4:18 PM
i'm sure that klaus kinski could get in. after working with herzog, he can accomplish anything!

and i can't say what kind of cheese because it hasn't been booked yet.

(trying to get a nice gouda)

Will it say if it's sold out? I just checked and it will let me make a reservation. That should guarantee me a seat (if I get there early and etc.) right?

klaus_kinski
July 21, 2008, 10:30 PM
MAKE A RESERVATION NOW, YA NINNY!

Dag, if they're taking reservations, well, they're taking reservations! So make it! If you don't feel confident once you made the rezzie, print out your confirmation e-mail.

I just made a res.

(also, a note to AST people going to this. Let's make it a real shinding. We should meet up for drinks before the show or something. Why not?)

disl
July 21, 2008, 10:32 PM
this is not an episode of seinfeld. the theater knows what a reservation is. they will not give away your seat so long as you actually make the reservation and show up on time.

Word. I've always wanted to meet the Klaus Kinski. Well, not the Klaus Kinski, but… you.

OK made the reservation. No need for ninny name calling.

I'm up for something before or after, the only problem being that I'm only 20. Maybe I'll just see everyone at the show or something.

This along with Del Close marathon is going to make my summer.

dougbenson
July 22, 2008, 9:34 AM
it's a fully improvised TBI in honor of the del close marathon, which i will be hanging out at all weekend - even making an occasional appearance in improvised shows where i don't belong. and if ucb says there are tickets available, then tickets are available. they run a tight shit!

(yes, shit)

RegularKarate
July 22, 2008, 12:42 PM
Oh sharks, Doug, my troupe is performing at Del Close... feel free to randomly attack our stage Saturday night.

Hopefully I can get in on that standby line for interuptionization.

July 24, 2008, 9:17 PM
FUCK! My wife and I are going to NYC on vacation and just came across this, but too late!!! What do you suppose the odds are of us getting in at stand by? Do you guys go to the UCB often?

dougbenson
July 24, 2008, 10:23 PM
i think there's enough of a chance that you should go for it!

(besides, standing in line in front of a gristedes grocery store is a vacation in and of itself!)

wrinkle_in_my_pants
July 25, 2008, 12:30 AM
I've got an extra ticket in my reservation. I always get a second ticket in hopes one of my friends will be down to see a comedy show, but that happens on a blue moon. If somebody here wants it, let me know.

For those who don't have tix, start at the front of the line and work your way down asking people if they have an extra spot in their reservation. Works EVERY time so don't bother with the stand by line!

Lookin forward to the marathon!!!! I made it 42 hours last year.

derekthedrummer
July 25, 2008, 11:02 AM
I will totally take that ticket off your hands. Now if I can track down a second for my wife, we're in fuckin business!

July 25, 2008, 11:04 AM
I didn't even know about this marathon. I try to avoid noticing these things (stuff like the PFT show, CDR) b/c living in Iowa I, normally, have no way of making it to them. I've been checking up on it now and it looks sweet. Also, does Matt Walsh sleep during this? It seems like he's in every freaking show.

dougbenson
July 25, 2008, 1:32 PM
matt walsh sleeps during the shows! it's some of the most amazing improvisational napping you'll ever see.

July 31, 2008, 9:32 AM
Hey, I reserved two tickets before realizing that I will be out of town the night of the show (and the weekend of the marathon ... grumble grumble). So if two people need tickets, or if one person needs tickets for two people, send me a message and I'll give you all the pertinent info.

aenemaTron
July 31, 2008, 10:07 AM
I'm in the same exact situation. I guess you should PM me as well if you want to gain the benefit of my reservations. First come, etc.

August 4, 2008, 8:40 AM

I want to know the line-up

See you there

Looks like reservations have opened up again on the UCB website. Get 'em while you can.

August 7, 2008, 9:53 AM
Hooray!!! Now I can go!

dougbenson
August 7, 2008, 10:41 AM
you might like the line-up if you are a fan of BEST WEEK EVER, HUMAN GIANT, THE UPRIGHT CITIZENS BRIGADE and/or THE MARIJUANA-LOGUES.

(how's that for some mothergrabbin' clues?!)

ericluxury
August 7, 2008, 12:04 PM
I can't wait to hear Frangelina, Jason Woliner and the lighting designer for the Marijuana-Logues get interrupted!

(that joke doesn't work though because I'd probably go to that show just to see what happens)

i realize this is wayyyy late (the show is in just 30 minutes!), but it looks like i'm stuck at work and won't make it to the show (very pissed about this) so if someone wants my reservation (just one) then PM me (first come, first serve).

This show was amazing.

That is all.

klaus_kinski
August 7, 2008, 11:33 PM
I missed it after all

And I don't care

What bums me out is that I couldn't buy the new CD in person

But whatever. I am sure it was funny

But, you know what? Ive laughed before.

So, whatever

Sad face

I didn't like the show...I loved it!

Doug I tried to say hi, but you were hounded by fans so I figured I would pass my chance up to say hi to go get soaked by the rain. Also is the only show in the marathon you're going to be in the Panel of Experts show?

August 8, 2008, 8:51 AM
paul scheer, owen burke, rob hubel, matt besser, and i forgot the other guys name. it was great. a great way to jump start the fest. very interesting to have so many improv performers up there this time around instead of standups. they seemed alot more into it than the last tbi. doug, i wish you performed in nyc more often....

actually, i'll be bringing cds tomorrow night, because i'm going to be in SETH AND ED'S PUPPET TALK SHOW at 11:30 and that'll be a good place to pimp the discs.

(only ten bucks!)

when i interrupt a comic their instinct is to shut me down, whereas improvisers are more open to going with whatever happens. but i think i'm gonna get suggestions from the audience from now on even with the stand-ups. and a strict ten minute time limit for each act. those aspects kept the show fun and tight last night, i think.

(i like 'em fun and tight!)

Shame on you, Doug. You're going up against your own guests from last night who are in Respecto Montalban. Well I, for one, have made my decision.

Thanks for the amazing show and the great album.
