Everyone go to Amoeba Music beforehand for a Melvins-style (http://www.amoeba.com/live-shows/performances/hollywood/2008-july-15/melvins/artist.html) tailgate party.

p.s. Will the names of these so called "funny friends" be released before the show? Or will we have to wait this one out?

If we need to sell more tickets, we will announce them... how's that for mysterious?

Doesn't the fact it says "funny" friends show that this will be a grand show! I mean the adjective is pretty specific they didn't say his Unfunny boring friends would show...

I'm there and interested to see where the TBA afterparty location will be

Since we can be the first owns to own this fine gem...how much will it cost to get one?

it's simple: you head west from ucb on franklin, turn left at gower, right on hollywood, and then go until you get to the place that i will announce at the show tonight.

(i mapquested "blow coldplay" and got directions to an apple store)

Really disappointed about missing this one.

I reserved tickets on friday as soon as they came out but for some reason paypal didn't process the order or there was some confirmation button I didn't click because the reservations didn't go through. So when I got to the front desk they said my reservation was "pending" and redirected me to the wait list where I was just a little too far down on the list to get in and the comp seats still hadn't arrived 20 minutes into the show, so my friends and I eventually just left.

I was really looking forward to this one, I hope it was as good as all the foreboding led me to believe, if so I'll live vicariously through the rest of you all. I hope for recaps.

Im sorry you weren't able to make it in, the people who had the comps showed up in the middle of the show, just for Rogan and Hill's set, then left after they were done. :\

The show was as great as Scott and Doug alluded to... the highlight being a bunny-clad, book-humping, eddie-vedder-posing, Graham Elwood.. it made me miss going to all the Interruption shows.

man of the night, Doug Benson!

Bil Dwyer demonstrates how to hug someone you don't really want to hug.

Jonah Hill does his SYNT material along with some not so worked out observations.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3040/2673950560_2475031374.jpg?v=0
"Now I know how it feels to jerk off another man..."
Seth Rogan talks about jerking off when his penis has fallen asleep.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3095/2673131767_91c867c7d0.jpg?v=0
Graham Elwood, during his introduction of Benson at the top of the show, teases that he'll maybe appear at some point to join the interrupters. I don't think anyone was expecting this though. Benson made sure to Graham-proof the stage by removing the podium, knowing well that Graham would probably knock it over and injure the girl sitting next to it on the floor.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3105/2673953218_95dbc8cf49.jpg?v=0
Graham takes a book from an audience member. After throwing it on the floor, some of the audience gets upset. "Are you kidding me? You get people up here talking about racism and queen latifah, and you're getting mad at me because I throw down a book?!"

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3120/2673954396_d4c39a2e2b.jpg?v=0
Todd Glass demonstrates what he was going to do before Graham stole his act.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3010/2673135321_4eae45f7e6.jpg?v=0
When Graham comes out to defend, Benson tangents, "... jesus, you have more hair than the bunny costume..."

I'll let punkdc fill in more of the details...

You could've also tagged along behind Bill Dwyer and pretended to be part of his family. That trick always seems to work for a few people.

Did that joke remind anyone else of a Dan Mintz joke? or was it just me? It was interesting to see Rogan perform. Jonah Hill I had seen last week so it was much of the same. Though I do say when Doug said Jonah Ray I was all happy I was like yay Jonah then he said Jonah Hill and I was like oh okay...

Overall I enjoyed this show. I always love seeing Jimmy Dore, Todd Glass and Graham Elwood is just fantastic! now when I see a bunny suit I will now think of him jumping up and down looking at his shadow.

I think a lot of Seth jokes were a lot of what guys just say to each other. There was also hints of Brian P's act in there when he was talking about showing some balls to woo women. It was ok to watch, it just wasn't the most impressive. I thought Johna Hill really blew it away though. I really liked his energy and his general excitement. Also, Todd Glass and Elwoods argument was scary and funny at the same time. I really love Todd Glass and was excited to see him in person.

I thought Seth's set came close to infringing on jokes from Dan Mintz (dick fell asleep) and Louis CK (rubbing his dick on everything as a kid). Would fellow comics alert someone if they heard them do a joke that is similar to someone else's? (Especially considering these guys haven't spent their nights in comedy clubs, lately at least.)

My favorite part of Seth's set was when he was talking about using hand cream to masturbate. He said he used it so much that he sort of forgot that it has another purpose, and if he saw someone in public taking out some hand cream, he thought they were going to jerk someone off.

Graham was far and away the highlight of the show. That was stellar.

ILIS already said as much, but yeah the second it came out of his mouth my husband and I looked at each other knowingly.

I did like Jonah Hill's Queen Latifah bit.

Yeah, I felt like I had heard most of Seth Rogan's jokes before and done better. Both the ones mentioned above I am pretty sure I actually have heard from more than one comedian before. Still, it was interesting seeing those guys trying something that visibly makes them uncomfortable.

Did anyone else feel like they hijacked the show a bit? While I enjoyed Jonah Hill for the most part, I felt like he went on too long and messed with the rhythm and flow of the show. Especially because there couldn't be any interrupting at any point during their sets, like the premise of the show got thrown out half way through. It also struck me as odd when the cameraman and many of the people who had reserved seats left the moment Rogan was done. Fortunately Graham and Doug picked it up the moment the guys were off stage, but I got a strange feeling about it. Doug, what did you think? I felt like since it was your CD release party they seemed out of place. Please don't take this as shit talking though, I thoroughly enjoyed the show and had fun at the after party, I was just curious what the circumstances surrounding it was.

Man, they sure do love to talk about jerking off. Someone should introduce them to the concept and history of the Dick Joke. There's a certain stigma that comes with doing an entire set about one's wang, no matter how famous you are.

I don't know, I thought Graham Elwood's performance probably came closer to a "hijack" than the celebrities. His interruption segment was a lot longer than the others and left Todd Glass with practically no time.

While I can definitely appreciate the intentionally annoying aspect of Elwood's act, I'm always a fan of that worthwhile shock of the guy willing to do the dumbest thing, I would link to video of Tom Green's brilliantly brief destruction of a grandfather clock on snl if I could.

Yeah I knew it was a Dan Mintz joke I literally muttered under my breath "that's Dan Mintz's joke"

Well I assume Seth and Jonah did not know it was Doug's nite cause I swear when Doug introduced Seth; Seth said something along the lines like "Hey I smoked pot with this guy huh I didn't know you were going to be here?"
Which to me was like oh umm hello! it's Doug's Record release show. So that annoyed me a bit. Maybe they thought there would be a SYNT and they could just hop on. I don't know I have reservations seeing them at CDR but that's me mostly cause I know so many comedians who are working hard and truly funny and trying to get on the show. But hey people can like who they like and do what they do.

Graham Elwood is awesome that is what he does and it works. I'm a teacher and Graham reminds me of those boys who are the class clowns the hyper kids who go all over the place and are funny but you know you shouldn't be laughing cause it is time for like Math or something but you can't help but bust out laughing. I love it.

Overall a fun show I enjoyed myself.

graham is funny in other venues but you have to go to ucb to see him in an animal costume and watch him throw water on people and ruin their books.

jonah and seth were more than welcome to appear on the show. even though it was my night, i knew their appearances would delight the crowd, and that is my number one goal when putting on a show. after i screwed up jonah's intro by calling him jonah ray, i jokingly said before introducing seth, "doug, don't say joe, don't say joe." so when seth said, "I smoked with him once," he was referring to joe rogan.

the mintz and posehn similarities are no big deal to me. it happens. i just hope they don't use any of that material in the movie.

and bil dwyer spells his first name with only one "l."

(because he's an idot)
