How are these written? do you write them alone? or work together with whatever comic is in the episode at the time?

I write the story lines (if you could call them that, they're so short) but the dialogue is improv'd. Like, I'll tell the other comic "Here's what's happening in this episode" and then I lead them with questions, and we'll just go back and forth, then we'll repeat the stuff that was particularly funny.

It's a lot more fun that way, and it seems to be working so far, since most comics can improvise. Also, most of the comics doing these are doing them as a favor to me, so to ask them to memorize a script would be a bit much, in my opinion.

I write the monologues and the freeze frame stuff alone.

Dom saying "Yeah, footage. Black and white games." made me lose it for some reason.

I really love these.

Ted is one of my favorite comics. I think the AST folks would dig his stuff, if you haven't seen him already. This episode and the Bamford episode are playing on the in-house TV's at Comix in NY.

Hey everyone. The Opener is done for a while. I got off the phone with the people from Runawaybox a few hours ago and they weren't exactly happy with the fact that the series only appealed to comedy nerds. But I'd like to thank those of you who watched for watching, and those of you who helped for helping. I'm working on strategy for the next round, which is still a possibility.

Well that's rotten news.

Who are these 'Runawaybox' people, and how can we strong arm them into 'seeing things correctly'.

(I'm not above physical threats)

Sucks. I hope they bring it back. It was a good run, Jim.

Hey, I know Jesse. We were once stranded together on the side of the road for a few hours in Texas. He also slept on the floor of the hotel room wrapped in a shower curtain.

Jim is giving his new CD away for free:

finished my CD "A Reference From My Act" and now you can have it for nothing for a short time.
Download it free by going here:

http://jimtews.com/freecd.html

It's going up on iTunes as we speak. Once iTunes approves it and it's online, I'll be taking this free link down.

Thanks!

- Jim

I'm downloading it as I type this.
