One time my friend and I saw Paul outside of a comedy club in Philadelphia where he had just performed comedy(we had just seen him INSIDE of this club). He was talking to some other people and we were gonna talk to him next, but we turned around for a couple of seconds and when we turned back again Paul had gone inside.

TRUE STORY!!

Paul is the host of the Reel Comedy special on "Step Brothers"; it's running on Comedy Central all this week.

Paul seems to be unnecessarily concerned with minutiae. It is the basis of his act.

He also wears suits containing many colors that are not found in nature.

Also, if you look up "foppish" in the dictionary, the entry contains his picture. True.

He's much more of a "dandy," IMO, more so than a "fop."

Are you saying he's a hooker from the 1920's?

Are you saying he's a hooker from the 1920's?

By no means, my good man. The dandy is more about the watch fob and the top hat and the fop is powdered wigs and stockings.

Fops are 18th century, Dandies a 19th century type...

Hookers from the '20s? I have no idea what they're called. GGILFs?

Those were flappers - and they weren't hookers. They were just ahead of their time.

I'm fairly certain that an identical thread to this was euthanized before the AST Crash of '08.
Ask Paul about the old thread in person at the Paul F. Tompkins Show, at Largo at the Coronet Theater on August 9, 2008. There will be guests, and they will be special. I can promise that seeing Paul "F is for Fancy" Tompkins in a proper theater with a full backing band and red velvet curtains makes for a whole new, and wholly awesome experience for the typical L.A. alt-comedy fan.

If you need a clearer picture, imagine seeing PFT and Jon Brion perform at the muppet show theater. How much fun is that?

Anyone know where to find that video of the 4th grade talent show version of PFT's Stromboli bit?

Dear Paul,

Since you are not here to rebut me... well, there's something I've been meaning to get off my chest...

YOU ARE WRONG!!! PIE IS BETTER THAN CAKE BY TONS. CAKE IS ASS COMPARED TO A DELICIOUS PIE LIKE PECAN OR CHOCOLATE.

Otherwise, I love you and will miss you in LA,

Dear Pauly T,

FACT: It is unreasonable to denigrate pies as you can put almost anything in a pie. What's a thing you like? Cover it with pie crust. Delicious.

FACT: "Crust" is an unpleasant word. You shouldn't let that fool you.

FACT: You should use your immeasurable sway over Jon Brion's career to nag him into making another pop record, tout de suite!

FACT: I should stop posting inane things and go to bed.

Love,

"Keith"

Paul,

So, I found the CD.

Yeah, it was hiding in my copy of Bobcat's recent. Funny thing, The Bobcat CD was still there, I guess I was just too lazy to put Impersonal in an empty CD case let alone IT'S OWN GODDAMN CASE!!!!

Crisis averted! Heh heh heh...

So.

Let's just move forward. You do your magic. I'll continue to figure out mine.

OH! and not that I'll see the possibility but If anyone questions your now-cryptic message on the inside sleeve, I-I'll cover for you I got your back.

Ahhh, don't mention it.

Speaking of Impersonal, that was about a year ago, yeah? Has anything been moving on the new CD? I caught PFT's comedy central presents (thanks On Demand) and I very much liked it alot.

Don't know if it was a repeat since I don't watch the show but at the gym yesterday I saw that Paul F was a pretty big part of last nights Pushing Daisies. Without the sound, you can't really tell if it was funny, but I imagine it was. Just a heads up to anyone on this board who watches or occassionally does...

Last night PFT rocked the Daisies as a professional geek. He's a really good fit for the show's style too, whimsically dark with expensive costumes.

I love that show. It is my cup of tea.

Just recently I heard some Paul F. Tompkins words/jokes and I laughed very hard.

This is what Paul looks like when he disguises himself as British:

He was GREAT in Pushing Daisies last night! Don't want to give too much away but he had a pretty big part. This ep was a real treat - Kerri Kenney, Stephen Root, and Fred Willard also guest starred. The full episode is available at abc.com.

I'm glad he got to be on it before they take it out behind the barn and shoot it in the head. It's another show like Arrested Development where they put a lot of energy into making it and then America goes, "No, thanks. I know we say we don't like TV and we want different and creative programming, but we're totally cool with NCIS and Dancing With the Stars."

VERY FUNNY.

Actually, that guy seems to be more of a Spiderman-fan than a Spiderman-man. My bad.

I couldn't figure out how or if it was possible to embed video from NBC.com for Late Night episodes, but here's the link of last night's episode with Paul F. Tompkins,

http://www.nbc.com/Late_Night_with_Conan_O'Brien/video/episodes/#vid=893001

You can just click select chapter at the bottom to go straight to Paul's appearance.

It was great to see Paul and Conan together, good stuff, I hope they have him back again after the move.

I'm so glad he told the "King Hat" story. I've been trying to find some sort of video or recording of it since I saw him tell it at SXSW.
